Let's hope he doesn't bring that stupid musical instrument with him!
Anyone been through this? I know your prayers and thoughts are with me, no need to post that, I can feel them! Just advice, please. I luve you ALL! Hope and pray no one has to go through this! I hope I'm taking it away from one of you younger women who haven't had a chance raise 4 wonderful kids yet....

Well if yours is as good
Well if yours is as good with a cyber knife as the other is with the sitar (or is it sittar) you're in good hands. Personally I'm not really into the music/instrument but he is good.

    Prayers and hugs!

    So Sorry, Mama G
We are in the same boat, although I am still in the "wait to hear from the neurosurgeon" stage. This too shall pass, and then on to bigger and better things. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and will wait to hear how things are going for you. Remember, the journey brings to the next venture, and we just have to be patient and let the docs do their job. Hugs, my friend. Judy

number 1 on the list of things i don't want to hear is that it's in my brain! what a wonderful sentiment you expressed - just goes to show what an exceptional woman you are!

love the doctor's name - old enough to get the connection!

    This sucks
but your attitude is still great and that counts for so much. Does your center do a demo (obviously not on someone) that you could see. If they do you could go down there and see if there's someone around you could REALLY talk to, not just the "party line". I know my cancer center has one and it's supposed to be awesomelly effective.
The usual - thoughts, prayers, hugs, angels are with you now and thru this whole horrible awful sucky thing.

    I don't know
I don't know anyone that has been through the Cyber Knife experience, but I they do at my onc. office. This is what I have learned.
The CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System is the world’s first and only commercially available radiosurgery system designed to treat tumors anywhere in the body with sub-millimeter accuracy. Using image guidance technology and computer controlled robotics, the CyberKnife System is designed to continuously track, detect and correct for tumor and patient movement throughout the treatment. Because of its extreme precision, the CyberKnife System does not require invasive head or body frames to stabilize patient movement, vastly increasing the system’s flexibility.
Unlike traditional radiosurgery systems that can only treat tumors in the head and neck, the CyberKnife System can treat both intracranial and extracranial tumors. In fact, extracranial treatments currently represent more than 50 percent of CyberKnife System procedures in the United States, including those of the spine, lung, prostate, liver and pancreas. The CyberKnife System provides an additional option to many patients diagnosed with previously inoperable or surgically complex tumors.

Hope this helps and all goes well

    Peace and Love,

    MamaG,
First of all I am so

    MamaG,
First of all I am so sorry. I just recently realized about the brain, do you know that I was tested in my chest wall, liver and bones..but never the brain. Here's how naive I am, I thought it was lung cancer that could spread to the brain. This is my worst fear.
I know you already know we're all praying for you but I need to say it out loud, while I type...I AM PRAYING FOR YOU.

Just this morning I was talking about this Cyberknife and had never heard of it before. Weird huh? Well this lady is in remission from lymphoma, but her Dad just had the cyberknife for his prostate cancer is doing great!

I feel that means something don't you? I believe in miracles and what are the chances that I just met this woman today ( in the bank )
    God Bless,
    HUGS'

Just got the same results, but my wife is so weak and far gone that the ONC recommended hospice and that treatment would only make things worse.

Hope you have better luck and cyberknife is great, my wife had it used on her T-9 and that was much better than traditional radiation.

Oh MamaG~ my heart is so
Oh MamaG~ my heart is so with you. Of course you have all of the hugs, prayers and positive vibes and then some from every one of your CSN family.

I think you're safe on the hole Ravi Shankar thing...I do believe That Ravi Shankar was born in 1920~I don't think he would be the one wielding a knife over anyone's skull! The only instrument Your Dr Shankar will have will most definitely be the one to get rid of the beast tying to invade your brain!
I admit freely, though I was not such a fan of Ravi during the Beatles hey-day~ I do love his daughter's music~ Grammy award winning singer Norah Jones.

Which reminds me~ I wonder if the name Ravi Shankar is as common in India as say, Bill Smith, or Jones is here in the USA!

All blessings to you sweet sister...we love you dearly.

    ((((((((hugs)))))) to you,
((((((((hugs)))))) to you, Thomas....words fail me, and I can only begin to imagine your pain and grief. You have become such an integral part of the family here; we all truly feel connected to both you and your wife, and I am so sorry that hospice has been suggested. I know it isn't much of a consolation, but hospice care is like being tended to by angels. They are a special breed, and I feel certain they will treat you both with the loving care and dignity you so richly deserve.

    Blessings to you both,
    Claudia

    So very sorry
So sorry Mama G to come on and to read this about you. I remember your writing on here about having trouble before. Was what you were going through a sign that it was in your brain?

I, as the others, am sending you hugs and will put you in my prayers.

There are so many new treatments out there now, that I really hope and pray that your doctor, whatever his name is, can help you.

Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

    Mama G--this news sucks!
I don't know anything about the cyberknife, but I do know you have many, many angels here who are praying their hardest and sending out the most positive vibes to you.

    A great big bear hug,
