    Peace Be With You
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.” (quote by Linnie Buttercup)

    Thinking of you
    Dave,
So sorry to hear about your wife. Even though you knew the day would come, it is never easy to accept. Everyone told me 6 months ago, that it will get better and to remember the happy times I had with my husband. It does get better but it's something we will never forget. Just take one day at a time and don't force yourself to do anything you're not ready to do.
Please keep coming to this site, cause I have found great comfort from it.

    Sorry
Dave, I am so sorry. I know that there are no words that really help and the next few days will pass in somewhat of a haze. We are never really prepared. Just know that there are many here who understand your pain. Now it is time to take care of yourself. We know you did an amazing job of caring for your wife. Now be good to yourself. Fay

    Dearest Dave
So sorry for your recent loss of your wife. You were a wonderful husband and caregiver to her. She knows this. She put up a great fight. She was such an inspiration to others here. She is no longer suffering or in pain. She no longer has this horrible disease of cancer. Yes you will see her in heaven. Like my dad told me....Until we meet again my dear. God bless you and your family and give you peace at this most difficult time your life. We are always here for you. Keep in touch.

    a poem for you
Dave, I know you and your wife are animal lovers. This appeared in the current issue of a magazine I read called The Sun. Substitute cats for dogs...

    In My Good Death
    By Dalia Shevin
I will find myself waist deep in high summer grass. The humming
shock of the golden light. And I will hear them before I see
them and know right away who is bounding across the field to meet
me. All my good dogs will come then, their wet noses
bumping against my palms, their hot panting, their rough faithful
tongues. Their eyes young and shiny again. The wiry scruff of
their fur, the unspeakable softness of their bellies, their velvet ears
against my cheeks. I will bend to them, my face covered with
their kisses, my hands full of them. In the grass I will let them knock
    me down.

I know you will miss her. 52 years is amazing. When I hear of couples like you being married 52 years it always brings warmth to my heart, and increases my faith. Take care.
