Ed passed away

With a very heavy heart I lost Ed yesterday at the hospital, he passed away at 12:15 PM. He had been in the hospital for two days. Diana and I had just visited him, went upstairs to the caardiac floor to visit with my Mom and the nurse called me and said he just passed away.
Services will be held this Saturday. Although it has been one long terrible year, I awoke this morning and thought it was all a dream, a bad dream, and I cannot express how saddened we are. No one can prepare you for this, even though you know deep inside it is coming, when it happens, you are just not prepared. I will love and miss my husband forever.

    Linda, I am so sorry for your loss. If it is any consolation, Ed is not suffering anymore. Though you are still here and you have to carry on without the one you love, you can and you will get through this.

    You are so right, though you know the time is comming, and you think you are ready, there is no way to prepare for the passing of the ones we love. I can think of nothing more painful. You and Diana are in my thoughts.

    I am very sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how difficult this is as I too lost my dear father to this beast. Your family has been through so much and you have faught a long hard battle with this disease. Thinking of you both and sending hugs

    From reading your posts about Ed, I know that he was a real fighter and loved life. But given the pain from this horrible disease, he now is in comfort, peace and feels pain no more.

    Try to remember the good times you had and not focus on the past year. My thoughts and prayers are with you and with Ed.

    We are so sorry for your loss. Even though you have lived through a bad time since the diagnosis, there were many good years before and that is what you will remember. The bad times will fade away as you recall his love for you and his daughter.
    He is free now, and you are free to let the bad memories go away. Be proud of yourself for keeping him well taken care of and looked after. Be assured you did all that was possible and it probably was the cancer that made him change. Now that he is with his heavenly Father, he has no pain.

    Dear Linda,
    So sad to see your post this am, even though you know Ed is at peace, it is so hard to lose someone you love and especially since this whole illness has been one rocky road for all of you. My prayers continue for you and Diana to go thru these next days and as someone else said hope the good happy memories will start to come back to you. Many hugs,

    I am so sorry to hear about Ed. I know how hard this is. I know what you are feeling and how your daughter feels. Its been only about 5 months since I lost my dad and I still have a hard time. I know what you mean about a dream. That is how my mother and I feel about my dad. Like its not real. like he is on a vaction. I keep waiting for him to come home and hear his voice but its not going to happen. Take one day at a time and please if you need anything even a shoulder to cry on please email me.
