Hi,
Some of you may remember a post I did where I spoke about the power of prayer. I told something that happened in our family that made me a true believer. One of my nieces was living with a not so good guy. We were worried and we were all talking bad about him. Then I sent an email and said lets not talk lets just pray and ask God to help us. He was arrested the next day. Bingo. Now he was given a plea deal 8 yrs for breaking and entering and other charges, did not accept it. Today went to court thinking he was going to get a much better sentence like 6 months or so his attorney told him. Well he got 4 yrs this am, we were praying again and all we asked was that God does justice in this matter. Thanks God!!! So there you have it, the power of prayer and God does answer our prayers. Hoping this will get my niece on the right road without the troublemaker. I am a true believer for sure. take care,
prayers always,
Donna70

I'm A True Blue Believer As Well!
Thanks for sharing your story! I just LOVE stories of God working in people's lives. Not only is it good for your niece to be separted from this "not so good guy" but maybe a little time of solitude for this guy will turn his life around as well?!!

God does still hear and answer prayers! Not all of them, but ALL according to HIS will!

    God Bless,
    Sally

I thought this discussion group is about esophageal cancer. Perhaps your comments would be more appropriately posted to the "Spirituality, Prayer, and Meditation" discussion group.

    The Power Of Prayer
    Donna,

I have read many of your posts and your struggles through this horrid disease. I am also a true believer in the power of prayer, the Lord did grant our family a beautiful grace period if only but a short time so that my father was here to see his beautiful twin grandchildren before he passed to this beast. Thank God that His blessing continue to look over your family and AMEN that your prayers were answered. Hats off to you Donna turning to prayers and insipring your family to follow in prayer for your niece.

    He answers all prayers
but some times as we are told, the answer may not be what we want to hear...about ec and everything else...but pray we do all the time....glad to hear how prayer helped your family.

    Who brings us together?
yes we are here on this site because of EC.

We share what works for us, and everyone can take with them what they find helpful. We don't judge someone if they choose a different oncologist, diet or chemo than WE would. You don't have to believe in prayer to use this website, but should not be judging others concerning their posts.

but you are right---posting this comment on the other thread might be a good idea too!

thanks for posting your story here!!!!

For new ones here Donna has been through over a year of aggressive ESOPHAGEAL cancer treatment with significant lung complications. I know prayer and the Grace of God the way most of us believe that we have gotten through our ordeals.

But--it is a valid suggestion, maybe we can share our personal spiritual stories on the other thread as well!

Thanks all for all the wonderful testomonies. I never pass up the opportunity to praise my Lord for what he's done for me. From the time I was diagnosed I put my faith in the Lord. I asked only one thing and that was that all be in His will and not mine. There were so many events taking place the year I took chemo and had surgery. Not one of these did I ever miss. God's grace is beyond all human understanding. If my cancer comes back tomorrow, it would be upsetting, but I know that Jesus loves me and I am a winner either way.

Don't know what to say to you 4law. If you don't like talking about prayer, maybe you shouldn't read the post with the word "prayer" in it! :)

    Blessings,

    Hi,
Thanks everyone for all the comments and thoughts about prayer. I really just wanted to update my original post when we were discussing how we all pray and believe in the power of prayer. Just wanted to those who read the original to know "the rest of the story". But in connection to my EC, this is a special time for me. Last year at this time I had just completed my first preop chemo and had two more to go plus daily radiation. That first chemo knocked me for a loop. I have gone thru all of it, chemo, radiation, surgery, post surgery chemo and complications and now this year, I am enjoying the fall, my family and clear ct scans so far all due to the many people who prayed me thru. My drs have been wonderful but I firmly believe that it was all those prayers that got me to this point of living a pretty regular life, something William that I couldn't imagine after surgery but just like all of you told me, it did come. How lucky am I!!! How I wish everyone would have a wonderful outcome but we never take it for granted. As someone pointed out, prayers have answers some not what we asked for. It is heartwarming to see how many people feel the same about prayer.
take care, prayers always for all,

Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill!

    I didn't say I "don't like talking about prayer."

Nor am I “judging others concerning their posts.”

Very simply, I point out that Donna 70’s post was not about EC, but instead it was about a ne’er do well receiving a 4 year sentence instead of an 8 year plea deal and something about God doing justice. The proper discussion group is "Spirituality, Prayer, and Meditation".

    When I thanked dh's oncologist
she pointed up...told her we thank God also for what he has done and especially for leading us to her for his treatment. He knows all...and loves each and everyone of us deeply after all we are his creations...and he is our Father. EC is bad enough without faith to help carry us when it gets tough...

    Answer to Prayer
Yes this is a ec discussion board, but Donna is an ec survivor and part of our ec family. She just wanted to pass on her good news of answer to prayer! Good for you and your niece Donna. Praise the Lord!
