I was diagnosed with SCC left tonsil and 2 lymph nodes January 29, 2010. I finished treatment April 13, 2010. The road is tough, but it is beatable! Hang in there, keep fighting one day at a time and don't give up.

Wellll I guess I can start counting! I never have thought of myself without cancer, but with a clean PET/MRI I can start!! I had mucoepidermoid carcinoma of my submandibular, diagnosed last August 2010. So I guess it's been a whole year!! OMG! I didn't even realize it. One year ago this month I found out I had cancer, how life changing.

A year ago Buzz was diagnosed with Stage IV SCC of the base of tongue. Two PET scans have been suspicious so the PEG stays until he can get a clean scan. Next scan is Sept 8. Hoping that it at least looks the same. Karen

Looks like Buzz and I will be doing our PET together just not at the same place. I will be in Houston at MD Anderson getting my 6 month PET on 9-8-11, and you know what, in the past 6 years I only had one of them come back NED all the rest were dirty little boys…

Wishing you both well on the 8th.

Thanks for keeping this post progressing as this is often the only time I get to see a reply from some folks.

I will be one year post TX on October 20th. Right Tonsil SCC with METS to 23 nodes of which 19 were positive for CA. (Stage 4B)

Feel great, actually my nutrition has greatly improved as a result of this horrible beast.

So nice and encouraging to see longer term survivors here.

God Bless!!

Hope you are feeling as well as your updated photo shows. I really need to update mine as I look nothing like this photo.

We pretty much have the same one year anniversary date in Oct. I will be thinking of your good results also.

Hope all is well with you and your family.

I'm over 13 years post radical neck dissecttin plur radiation for SCC BOT. Had a second primary floor of mouth a year ago treated with radical surgery. Now am back in process for either a third primary or a recurrance in my soft palate. Wouldn't trade anything for the time provided by my first treatment. Gonna whip this one too.

Feb.5th 2010 I had parotid gland cancer surgery plus 33 radiation treatments in front of my left ear. Those 33 treatments were a living hell I lost 40 lbs because i could not eat solid food just liquids. but i survived all that then in January 2011 they found that the cancer went into my right shoulder blade so I had 14 radiation treatments to my shoulder plus I started chemo treatments. In August they told me my cancer was in remission I still get a small dose of Chemo once a month and on Dec 27th I will have another PET scan I am still here today because of my faith in God,my Wife and my Doctor and all the prayers that have be sent on my behalf . I have limited use of my right arm but I have a wife that has been with me through it all. I will never give in to cancer

Post treatment. PET in March. Fingers, legs, eyes, everything crossed. The thought of being happy about surviving 'just' another 5 years makes me queasy so I take it one day at a time.

Hi Jen,

5 whole months, got a list of must dos, well I don’t I simply must start taking my time above ground as more finite, because you never know,

I am 6 months post and nobody scheduled me a PET Scan and I thought we were friends. Some thing is funky in Matt Land.

Otherwise I sleep and feel great.

Best,

Matt

Very good memories, good times, great people...a lot have endured, and many that are new.

Thoughts and prayers that in a few years, when this post pops up again, that many more will be added as survivors, and doing well.

Cancer of mandible with 2 or 3 positive lymph nodes. Ten months since dx and surgery. Finished rads/chemo 4 1/2 months ago. Waiting til 6 months out of tx to start lower dental implants. Plenty of energy, saliva returning, seeing that there is life after cancer.

Hi all. I am 2 weeks off my 3 year survival since dx. Life is awesome. Hubby and I just work to travel now. Spend lots of family time with our boys and their girls and granddaughter. We have another grandbaby on the way. Everything seems to be a milestone and it just keeps ticking along. Great results from docs in April 2012. Now considered 98% cured. Who would of thought the word cancer and cured could be involved in the same sentence. Love, thoughts and best wishes to everyone on here. Jen xxxxx
