Has anyone ever experienced this, my wife found a small pea shaped lump beneath her skin on her expander, we did an ultra sound, they detecteced blood, so they did a biopsy, waiting for results, as you all know we are worried sick about a reoccurrance.
She completed chemo April 20th of this year, no rads, was/is triple negative, single mestectomy, 1 of 15 lympth nodes positive, 2.5 lump.
Any info greatly appreiciated..

    Limbo Sucks!!!
This has to be the worst time ever. Waiting for results. I can't give you good news but what I would advise is to find a getaway this weekend. Go somewhere, rent a bunch of movies, find something to keep your mind busy, visit friends that don't know. Even if it is a recurrence, this time is almost worse than knowing. At least when you know, you can plan your fight but not knowing is much much worse. Please don't wallow in the what ifs.

It might be nothing and I sure hope for your sake that it is. At least your dr. is proactive and did a biopsy so that you will know one way or another. There are false positives. Not everyone gets bad news.

Keep busy! Sending you my best wishes.

    Pea shaped lump...
    Hi MCJ,
I have not been on the web site for some time and I am very sorry to hear about the lump. I hope that everything went well and that it was just scar tissue.

In my case, I had a tram flap done. I am still very worried about cancer returning. I was diagnosed 2007 and had my surgery 2008. I had chemo but not radiation. The surgery and chemo was hard to get through. I had blurry vision, hair loss, loss of weight, sleepless nights, anxiety etc. I went back to work much to early. I had chemo brain and was scared that my memory would not come back and that I would lose my job. I actually had to retrain myself at work! I am so grateful that my boss was understanding. I have been feeling pretty well up until recently. I am very tired now which makes me suspicious that the cancer is back somewhere in my system. I am praying that this is not so. I have heard that Triple negative is hard to beat but I am a survivor!

How has everything been going for you these past months? How are you feeling? Hope to hear from you. I promise to check my web site more often. Somehow I think I may have cancelled you as a friend but this was in error. I am not very good with computers and make lots of mistakes! Please forgive me for my stupidity! Best wishes and prayers to you. We will persevere!

    not exactly the same
I had a blood vessel that was inflamed that was discovered post surgically one day while I was in the shower. It was at the bottom of my breast where it attaches to the rib cage. It was about a month after my lumpectomy but I thought somehow cancer had returned. I also tempered the fear with the explanation that I did not know what may have been re arranged in that breast so maybe it was nothing. I was releived to find out it was an inflamed blood vessel when I saw the surgeon. I knew that if I got it investigated by him (the surgeon) he would know if there were any adjustments or re arrangements he made durring surgery. So rest assured there are times when there is a perfectly good reason that a lump or growth is not cancer.
