My Life in a Beautiful Small Town....

About 15 minutes ago, a silver pick up truck pulled into my driveway. I didn't recognize the truck, and when the doorbell rang, I went out to see who was there. It was a local man, proprietor of one of my favorite local eateries. He is the one hosting the Livestrong Challenge next month~ the10K I am participating in ( come hell or highwater) and my niece Siobhan is volunteering in his kitchen for.

He heard I am battling the beast again, so he brought me comfort food to help me through any of the rough times~ 7!!! ramekins of his own recipe, restaurant quality, made with love portions of OMG the best mac and cheese ever!!! I just started crying~
He and his wife included the sweetest card along with it, wih thier home phone number, saying if I need ANYTHING, I have it! And he signed the card, "LiveStrong"...

You know all of those people who say "If I can do anything, just let me know?" And of course we never ask those people! But he and his wife just did it!!! Without being asked and without me expecting anything!!!!

Sometimes, at the end of our proverbial day, we do know that there are good, warm, caring,generous souls out there. And it truly does make the ugliness of cancer, and the fear it brings bearable.

Thought you might just want to know that.

And, this come right on the heels of me getting a surprise package from MMontero~ filled with gifts she lovingly collected from some of the CSN family of Kindred Spirits, and sent to me to help me get through these scary days. And, RE also touched my heart with a gift from her heart to mine.

Where would we be without each other?????

    What a blessing for you....Whats better then mac&cheese......I did Livestrong[Philly] last year with my brother[also a survivor] It is an experience that is hard to describe....But I only made the 5k....so you go girl.......or should I say 50ft women...

    Your a great person Chen so why wouldnt anyone give you great gifts of kindness!

    Chen, it is only natural that someone as giving as you should be the recipient of such kindness. I am sure these acts are not the last you will see, and positive that you will continue to send blessings to many of us still needing a kind word. Kindness in the dictionary must include the definition "Chen". You are in my thoughts and prayers always, as I know you include us all in yours. Hugs, Judy P.S.     community, as it has here on our boards. Mac N Cheese what a wonderful way to say, Hello we cherish you and are here for you.

You must get exhausted from your doctors visits and chemo ..     I'm sitting at my desk with tears running down my cheeks while I read this. None of us would expect any less. You are a wonderful caring spirit who deserves no less in return. Enjoy the mac n cheese.

    Chen... I am so happy you have good neighbors who are reaching out to you and your family. It warms the heart. It is wonderful to hear such stories of ordinary people coming forward to lend a helping hand. The ordinary can be extraordinary at times.
