New treatment

I have been having some physical problems along with the new treatments. My liver is hurting more and i am even more fatigued. The new pain started with the new treatments I hope it is the treatment and not the disease. They have decided to take me off this treatment and start me on xeloda along with another gene therapy but they have to wait 3 weeks to put me on the new drug because they want the current drug completely out of my system. It's all about the study. So, all is not lost but the cancer grew so quickly during my 3 month chemo break. That is what scares me but I guess it is best not to think of those things. Maybe this treatment staved off the dogs for a while if it didn't make thing worse. This will work because it has to. Thank for all your support. In spite of the struggle and uncertainty I am feeling more like Eric again. It makes it harder to stay positive when you are in pain but now it is more of a back and forth thing than a constant depression.

Eric

    Sorry
So sorry you are going through this. Maybe this new treatment they have you on will help. Hoping that you get some pain medication for what you are experiencing. You should not have to deal with this without help. Love your inspiration and attitude towards all that you have gone through so hoping that you get some good results coming to you.

    good
    Hey, Eric.

I know it makes you nervous to wait 3 weeks to start the new treatment, but I'm praying that this will be the one to make the difference for you. You are such a lovely person, it makes me sad to think of you being in pain and feeling depressed. I'm glad you're feeling more like you now.

    *hugs*

    When I first started chemo,
When I first started chemo, my liver began to hurt. It freaked me out, but my doctor said that pain could be a good sign because when the drugs are working they can cause the tumors to swell a bit. The chemo shrank the tumors significantly. Hopefully that's what is happening with you. Stay strong.

    Thanks for all the wonderful
Thanks for all the wonderful support. You are a precious group of people and continue to amaze me. I am feeling better but the pain seems to worsen daily. I started to have a little bit more pain after the treatment I just finished started but I didn't start having any real pain until this weekend and today my liver is pushing on my ribcage and it really hurts even to the point where talking or laughing hurts. Of course, I'll suffer some pain for a good laugh. I keep telling myself it will stabilize and stop hurting so bad but so far it seems to be getting worse. I don't know how this happened so quickly and how it could actually be getting worse on a daily basis. The weird thing is besides the pain and some shortness of breath (which I am sure is related to the liver stuff,) I felt the the best I've felt in a while today. I mean as far as energy and mental clarity goes. So, there is always a bright side too. I feel like I am just getting on here to complain lately.

    Love you guys,

    Eric

    I am so glad
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better mentally and physically! I know you were really struggling with the treatment you were on. This isn't a 3-month break this time - only 3 weeks - don't let yourself stress over that. Lots of people have an extra 1-4 weeks inserted during treatment with no ill effects.

I hope you can keep the liver pain under control so you can really enjoy this short break before you try something new. Going into it feeling more like yourself and re-charged will be so much nicer than how you were feeling on the other treatment.
