WHOOP! WHOOP! Bloodwork hasnt gotten worse or changed so the good news is that my surgery is on for August 12th. I get to get my boobies!!! Thanks for all the prayers. I never thought i would be excited about having a surgery, but dangit, its been over a year since my mastectomy. I have to share this with you guys though. Its funny and scary at the same time. Went for the bloodwork today and two nurses tried to get my blood and they couldnt. I sat there for about 45 min waiting for them to find another nurse to draw my blood. I have very stuborn veins. Anyways, a friend was with me and in walks this nurse, bless her heart, who way past retirement age. She almost fell coming in the door and the look on my friends face, I lost it. So trying not to laugh i start a conversation with the nurse. Turns out that she actually worked with Albert Sabin when he was coming up with the polio vaccine at Cincinnati childrens! Thats how old this nurse was. Well, she got my blood alright. And blood on the floor. Blood on the pillow she put under my arm and blood on my shirt!! Bless this poor woman, but she does not need to be drawing blood still!! I am so bruised because she kept turning the needle in my arm. Glad thats over with, but i thought that it was just a riot. Thanks for all the support girls. I am so looking forward to my surgery. They do have to continue to monitor me for my levels to make sure they dont change, but my onc isnt making me go back in until after my surgery. By the way, my picture i have on my post is the rock i painted and is in the peace garden im working on.

Take care
Laura

I'm in ahhhhh over your 'Peace Garden' - got a good
hearty laugh at your as well, more importantly is the fact that your are going in for your exchange after a year. WOW .... I am sure that you are over the moon by this news, good for you. I plugged your surgery date into my calendar, so that I can send warm wishes, cyber hugs and a prayer your way.

Life is moving forward for you - and I am so very happy.

    Boy, she sure WAS old
Maybe she loves nursing so much, she doesn't want to retire!!

Thanks for sharing that story with us. I remember we had a nun at our grade school, Sister Mercy, she was in her 90's and used to monitor the cafeteria...HA!

I am HAPPY for you that your blood work up came out normal and you can move forward.

    Blessings,

    Sylvia

You are braver than me. I
You are braver than me. I can't make myself go back in for more surgery even if it does make me look normal.

The pain with the needle all depends on the skill of the nurse. Ouchy.
