I am no longer allowed to post daily scripture here on this board per the CSN staff. I will be posting these on the Spirituality, Prayer and Meditation discussion board listed at the bottom under 'other'. Be blessed!

Wow! Until this very moment I never scrolled down far enough on the list of Boards to even know there was a Spirituality, Prayer, and Meditation Board! This place thinks of everything! Awesome!

    Very unfair
I think that is awful Lorrie. I am going to log a complaint, even though it probably won't work. Others post so many things on here that your posts were always one that I looked for. What was there reason for not allowing them on here anymore? You are a bc survivor and should be able to post what you want. I have a feeling that someone who didn't believe in God didn't like them and complained. For them, I feel sorry.

It is a shame when other postings aren't taken off of here. If CSN wanted to be fair, then we wouldn't be able to post jokes here either. After all, there is a humor discussion thread here too. Maybe that will be next. And, people shouldn't be allowed to post if they are caregivers, as there is a caregiver post too. Also, there is an emotional support discussion thread, so, maybe those that need emotional support shouldn't post here either. See where this is leading...

So sorry Lorrie, it really is very unfair. And, to those that complained about your posts, they are very sad, self centered fools who don't believe in God.

I will write CSN too. It sure can't hurt.

    I will miss them.

    So sorry
Those words are of comfort and hope and feel they are so well suited for the Breast cancer board. As was mentioned, some people don't scroll down far enough to see that there is a Spirituality section.

I'm sure this won't stop you from sharing God's Word. I'll be checking the Spirituality board.

    YOU are a blessing!

    I think they, the moderators

I think they, the moderators wanted the discussion boards to remain non-denominational and open to everyone regardless of their religious background. That is the reason there is the Spirituality, Prayer and Meditation discussion board which, by the way is heavily Christian based.

Not everyone on this discussion board is Christian and while those who are not may not be offended by the Christian related posts, it may leave new non-Christian people with the impression that this is not a place they belong. This is a wold wide discussion board.

    Life in not fair though
We know this life is not fair....on this side of heaven that is the way it is. Some things that are the views and opinions of others are allowed and overlooked but other views and opinions are shot down and erased. God is the only absolute that I am aware of in this cruel world yet I am not allowed to quote His words in some places. However, not everyone believes and God never wanted us to force Him on people. They removed 3 or 4 spiritual posts that I put on here last night and then emailed me with a private message. My feeling was....if someone does not want to read my word of the day or daily bread post then they simply can pass over it and not read it. It is very sad but we know who is behind these kinds of things and we have to march on and keep finding ways to lift Christ up in our lives and with our lips and even here with our fingers typing. I will post starting tomorrow morning on the Spirituality board and look forward to meeting you all there. Thank you so much for supporting the life of Christ living on within us and using our lives to reach others and give them hope....the hope of Jesus! Be blessed.

yeah, but when it comes to

yeah, but when it comes to religion and politics that is a whole other matter. It is a matter of where people might feel they can belong and if the discussion board is predominantely Christian or Christian supporters other people, who are not Christian might not feel this is a place where they can come for support or feel welcome.

I am sure if this board was predominately Muslim you as a Christian might not feel that welcome or might feel welcome but out of place and leave, or not heard. And that is not what this breast cancer discussion board was designed for, that is religion, it was designed for women to find support in the face of their cancer and if they want religious support they can go to Spirituality, Prayer and Mediatation and believe me, you can get as much Jesus teaching as you may ever need on this board. There isn't much room for any other religion on this board either although some of us do post.

I agree that the religious postings need to be posted in Spirituality, Prayer and Meditation, although I had no offense to them being posted on this board but then I have been around long enough.

    JUST A THOUGHT
    Hi Lorrie,

I post on that board on occasion and have found it quite enjoyable. It was explained to me by several folks that that board was created because a few boards became so overwhelmed with scripture and spiritual debates that folks who were seeking cancer help who may not be of faith or simply do not wish to go there on a cancer board were starting to feel unwelcome and began to no longer post. Since it is a cancer board that is certainly not something we want to have happen. The spirituality board allows many faiths to post and we learn a lot from each other. I was thrilled to see it when ACS started it, I look forward to seeing you post there.

    Hugs,

perhaps I am not getting what you are saying but then I always feel that you are not getting what it is like to be a minority, in fact a minority that has been looked upon as an enemy in this country, ie terrorist. That is why it it good to on some level to keep the religously specific teachings and sharing to another board. I have absolutely no problem to spiritual teachings apply to any religion.

One can be spiritual and religious
One can be religous and not spiritual
and one can be spiritual and not religious.

rarely is there conflict about spirituality that applies to all but there is often conflict around religion.

I am sorry if it is difficult for people on this board to understand that the rest of the world is not Christian, in fact there are many other religions and ways to God besides Christianity.

Lorrie, it not like you are not allowed to post any Christian teachings at all, you have just been asked to post it on another discussion board that the moderators find more appropriate. Why is this so difficult for many of you to understand.

    Just a simple question
I have asked for prayers and have prayed for others and believe in the power of prayer. Does that need to stop? I just want to be politically correct.

    I do too!
I have SEEN the power of prayer many times and I pray for each and every one of you here, every day. I ASK for prayer and I pray FOR others.

I also end most of my blogs with "God bless" or "Blessings", which I will continue because that's what I pray for you.

I really hope that doesn't offend anyone :(

Not at all! If I am a Jew or
Not at all! If I am a Jew or a Muslim,Buddhist, or Native American, or a Wicca or a Christian,( as examples) and you ask me to pray for you, I will be praying to whichever diety I pay honor to! Those who have no connection with a religion per se, or are athiests or agnostics or have perhaps fallen away will, oftentimes offer you "positive thoughts", "good karma" and other non-specific well-wishes!

Do you remember our ornament exchange ????/
In the fall last year, I asked if the Kindred Spirits here wanted to be part of an ornament exchange! Many wanted to right away, but some emailed me that they did NOT. Why? Because they did not celebrate the holidays, for myriad reasons. They were Jewish, or practicers of Islam, or Buddhist, or simply did not believe in Christ or had been taught that it was actually a pagan celebration adopted by the church. Some didn't celebrate because it made them sad, or brought up unhappy childhood memories. The reasons were all valid to the person expressing them.

What I let them know right away was that belonging to a religion was NOT a pre-requisite to being part of the ornament exchange! I suggested that if they wanted to be part of what I saw as a Winter Connection, they could send a sled or a snowflake ornament, something which identified their state, a pink ribbon ornament, or whatever moved them! The point was not to insult anyone~ for their religion or lack of it. Which of course has nothing to do with a persons spirituality! The senders had the option of remaining anonymous~ they could add and sign a card as they saw fit. When I paired people up, if I knew they were not church-goers , I let the sender know that. Both the sender and the recipients appreciated that! I had almost 100% participation! It was a touching, loving experience for everyone who sent/received ornaments!

I see this "prohibition" in much the same way~ it takes nothing away from anyone's religion, spirituality or lack therof. We are on these boards for a common reason; BC has become part of our lives and we connect with each other as Kindred Spirits. And those of us who wish, as RE says can make a religious/spiritual declaration on the site lovingly provided for exactly that purpose.

We are too important a place, the safe haven and joining of hearts and empathy in a time we are fighitng for our physical lives.

Invoking the spirit of perhaps the only smart thing Rodney King ever said, "Can't we all just get along?"

    Peace and hugs,
    Chen♥
