edited March 2014 in Esophageal Cancer #1
My boyfriend who just came back to me 3 years ago after a 20 year absence was diagnosed with esophagus cancer in April 2010. He has had 6 weeks of radiation and chemo and we thought the next step was surgery. Unfortunately the PT Scan showed more cancer cells in the lymph nodes outside the radiated area. So surgery is not an option now. We have an appt with a new Oncologist on Tuesday. I have been reading every ones stories for awhile now and felt like I needed to post something. Our lives were just starting again and this was not supposed to happen. Your stories have been my inspiration to survive this nightmare. We are both in our late 40's and live in Va Beach. I know the #1 advocate for this cancer must live nearby. God Bless all on this board this is a horrible thing to deal with.

    It hasn't been restaged
It hasn't been restaged since our appt last week. No other organs are involved if I understand everything. We met with Dr. Hubbard who I know you have experience with. He won't operate as long as there are other areas of cancerous cells. We have an appt with Dr Alberico with Va Oncology next week to see what the next step is. I appreciate your quick response just knowing someone is out there means alot.
