Why is Holland so green?

Because, first thing in the morning, the sun is up and shining...birds singing, etc...

Then, about noon, it gets rather humid. Still blue skies, but for the Dutch, they know what's coming...

About 5 or 6pm, the sky is completely cloudy. An hour later, it rains. Not JUST rain, tho...POURING rain, SHEETS of it, with wind, thunder, and lightning!!!

By morning, the sun will be up and shining, and all of the plants, grass, etc will be miraculously 2" taller!!!

SOOOO, it's almost time for cows!!! YEA!!!

Hugs, Kathi

We are in the center of the country, due east of Amsterdam...

I am on Facebook, too...and at least 2 of my Dutch friends, as well...

The Tour de France just went thru Holland a bit ago, and I hear that was shown in America. I love it here, too...and the snow and ice in the winter, green in the summer is fantastic!!!

    Appeldorn
We have friends in Appeldorn, in fact they are flying here as I write this. They first go to New York for a few days and then they will arrive in Oregon where I live on Sunday. Holland is soooo beautiful. I have been there 3 times and plan to visit again. My friend is coming because of my BC. Knowing she would be here in July is what kept me going through all the chemo I had to go through. We are like sisters, she was our exchange student when I was in high school. We try to visit each other every 5+ years. We are in our 40's now and she will always hold a special place in my heart! Marianne

    It has a fab zoo....
I LOVE Apeldoorn! The Apenheul...have you been? It's all primates. I love the part where the squirrel monkeys are allowed to run free with us...they are so small and cute!

That is wonderful that you have kept up the friendship! The next time you come, let me know...it could be we will be here, as well!!! That would be great to get together for a kopje koffie!

    Tulips!
I just instantly think of tulips!! Everywhere!!

I was always curious to know why pictures of little girls in Holland alway had these upward braids. How'd they do that? I did that one time using the wire from a hanger...HA!

    I'd love to visit :)

    Blessing,

    Thank you for spelling
Thank you for spelling Apeldoorn correctly! I always mess it up! I haven't been to The Apenheul, I will put that on our list to visit the next time we are there. We usually meet in another part of Europe, 2 years ago we spent the week in the south of France in this little village that only had 100 people who lived there. It was the best vacation we have ever had, so relaxing. I was during the Lavendar festival too. I could really use a vacation like that now! I am waiting for test results, my dr thinks my cancer may have spread to my uterus! Great timing, I will just forget for a week that I have any problems and play with my Dutch sister! Marianne

    That's the ticket!!!
Enjoy your visit, and, like Scarlett O'Hara, think about the rest 'tomorrow'!

I LOVE your description of your vacation to France! The villages can be so lovely, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong...) that many places take a nap in the afternoon, just like Spain...
