Hello Hello,
Just a little note to say all is going well with the chemotherapy. I have completed 4 rounds and I have 8 more to go. I am looking forward to November, when I will be able to drink something cold. It has been very hot outside, but I stay indoors. Although I am down to 159 pounds and back in size 10/12, that is only due to the fact that everything taste like tin, I enjoy the fact that I can eat anything that I want to. It's funny, that those of you close to me know that I loved candy, well now I can't stand it. Next year I will enjoy outside activities. I can not complain. Next time that you have an ice cold snowball, enjoy one for me and keep smiling, I am. Remember that GOD is Grrrrrrrrrrrreat. I love you all.

Peace and Blessings

Karen

    Yeah
I am glad things are going well, I tolerated it better than I thought I would, what a blessing. Before you know it, you will be done. I missed ice cold beer and hated how I could not taste any food. I hope things continue to go well for you.

    Don't know which is worse....
Having the chemo and oxy in the cold winter months (more cold, more tingling) or having chemo in the summer when you can't have cold drinks and ice cream. And I bet the cool chill of air conditioning may be a problem, too, isn't it?

    I....
...Didn't let it stop me from eating ice cream or anything, I just nuked it up alittle, to be able to get my spoon through it, and I'm fine! I still drink cold drinks and water, especially on my off weeks, it seems to have gotten used to all that.

    Hugsss!

    Karen,
you are doing wonderful! This is horrible to say, but when I learned of my cancer dx, I secretly thought that this was a way to lose weight and I'd feel better. Did I lose weight? Not an ounce.

Taste buds suffer so much during chemo, but I didn't have any problems with it on my off weeks, it's obvious if you look at my fat butt.

Some things can be so much worse, and it's amazing now how I take things with a grain of salt. You're doing great!!

    Love and Hugs

Holly, I'm with you on hoping that at least I'd lose weight!
And I did, post-op and during IP chemo - dropped 30 pounds. However, Folfox messed up my metabolism, and I gained back 50! I've finally dropped 10 of those, and am hoping my recent surgery will help me along!

It sounds sick to look at cancer this way, but we have to find some good in the bad. I have to remind myself that I'm hear to complain about my wt gain!
