Would you beleive I saw and met with the plastic surgeon today at 1:30, and first thing in the morning I am meeting my new surgeon!!! I am going through with the reconstuction, I listened to the plastic surgeon and he made it all sound like it's something I can handle and in the long run I will like what I see.

Oh thank God for my oncologist, when he pulls his weight he comes through!!!! More than likely I will be getting all this done within the next 2 weeks because the 3 doctors all need to touch base with one another, check their schedules and Woo Hoo this crap called cancer will be out of me and I'll be on the road to healing. And it's possible I may not need any chemo or radiation if it all looks good and goes well, so please keep me in your prayers that I can avoid all that part. I will do what they say though one way or another.

Oh thank you Good Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you Sweet heavenly father!!!!

Okay I'm doing much better!!!

Love Ronda

    Oh oh oh and Joyce
I will be going with the type that uses expanders, if I wanted the kind of surgery where they use body tissue like from the back of your butt or lower abdomen I would need to go all the way up to Birhmingham and I can't do that so I'm being brave and going with expanders. He said I will like looking in a mirror eventually.

I'm so happy today, I bet I sleep good tonight. There is relief in site.

Everyone take care, you will get through this one day at a time!!!

    Love Ronda

I don't think I'll be getting any new nipples, I just don't think that would matter to me much and I feel I will have been through enough already. Where in Florida are you, I use to live in Ft.Myers and Cape Coral, now I'm here in Pensacola.

Thank you Janice and Thank you Mary,

    Goodnight all,

    Love Ronda

Ronda, I'm so glad that it

Ronda, I'm so glad that it looks like you'll have the surgery soon, and that you've decided to have the reconstruction. Reconstruction made a big difference for me, but I know everyone feels differently. I was forced to use my abdomin because I'd had radiation several years ago, but I was so fortunate to have a doctor who could do it whose office is 10 minutes from my house. Having to go to Birmingham would be difficult and it would likely delay the surgery, so there are two good reasons not to go that route.

You'll be so relieved to have the surgery behind you and know that they've removed the cancer. Hope today's appointment goes as well as yesterday's!

    Dear Ronda,
I responded to you email before I came onto the discussion boards. So glad to hear they are getting you in soon for your surgery and that you can do the reconstruction at the same time. My surgeon did not want to go that with me and wanted me to wait until after chemo to do my reconstruction which I plan to do next summer but since they say you will not need chemo...Oh....what a blessing! I am so happy for you! Pleae keep us updated as to your exact surgery date and any other new info. Thank God!...He is good all the time!

    Punta Gorda
Yup - Punta Gorda's where I'm from. Last time we (Sons and I) spent any real time there was during Desert Storm while Hubby was deployed.Mom was born in Pensacola. Hubby was never stationed there just at NAS JAX and NAS Cecil Field in FL - Well Boot Camp at Orlando and he's from Madeira Beach.

Sorry to get OT but it is a small owrld.
