I have loved to see recommendations on here of books that helped each and every one of you. So, I thought it would good to see what everyone has read and how it might have helped them, whether it be change of lifestyle, habits, eating or just anything.

    Dreamwalk
I got, for free, Dreamwalk, a survivor's journey through breast cancer by Rachael Clearwater. I went to her website and if you are a bc survivor, all you pay is a couple of bucks for postage.

I also wanted to add that I read all of the literature that my cancer center gave to me. It is important to understand your treatment as best as you can.

    Anticancer
Anticancer, A New Way of Life, was great. The book is by David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PHD and cancer survivor. Also, A Writer's Journey by Christopher Vogler helped me put cancer into perspective and look at it as a Hero's Journey with me as the hero.

    Good books
I loved "Uplift" by Barbara Delinsky (I think that's her name) - the stories are so touching and the advice so helpful. But, of course, my favorite and most uplifting book that I read is the Bible. In it I find my strength.

Womens bodies womens wisdom by christine northrup
And also anticancer. They are both written by doctors and lean strongly towards healthy living and destressing. The first puts a huge emphasis on how what is going on can effect our bodies.

The one book I would buy...
...if I could, for every woman finishing treatment -- After Breast Cancer: A Common-Sense Guide to Life After Treatment, by Hester Hill Schnipper, LICSW.

The author is an oncology social worker and two-time breast cancer survivor. I started it about a month before finishing treatment, and carried it around with me like Linus with his blankie. No one tells you how difficult it is when you finish active treatment -- this book really helped.

    I also recommend:

After Cancer Treatment: Heal Faster, Better, Stronger, by Julie K. Silver, MD - Author is a rehabilitation physician and breast cancer survivor -- talks more about physical than emotional recovery, so makes nice companion book to After Breast Cancer.

Your Brain After Chemo: A Practical Guide to Lifting the Fog and Getting Back Your Focus, by Dan Silverman, MD, PhD and Idelle Davidson

Anti-Cancer: A New Way of Life, by David Servan-Schreiber

And I'm currently reading The Cancer Survivor's Guide: Foods That Help You Fight Back -- a lot of the same ideas about food as Anti-Cancer, but with recipes and practical tips for how to incorporate foods into your diet.

Treat Her Like A Princess, Denise Hanz
Great and simple facts for patient, family, caregiver, friends family and SO.
I shouldhave had it before treatment to have a few "helpers" read!

    Trust me, Susie, trust me...
Why? Because I went to a very expensive college, I've discovered Pizza, The Miracle PMS Cure, and I can successfully use the word "blankie" in a sentence!

How could you NOT trust me???

    Self HELP
I had been on a self help journey for more than 10 years prior to my bc diagnosis that was 14 years ago.

One of the best books I have ever read was
    The Art of Simplicity
Living by the essentials of the heart.
by a woman, someone has my book.
full of sayings I have never heard
and quotes from bible and other religous books

Probably the simpliest books with the biggest lessons. I learned so much and given just this year.
