Hi Everyone

Normally I'm on the Head & Neck discussion board but........my boyfriend's cancer spread to his bones, lungs and skin.

My question is.....he has chemo every Thursday, by the weekend he is in extreme pain, is this normal?

He's fine by Monday thru Friday. The extreme pain doesn't hit until Saturday.

This is his second round of treatment, he finished his initial treatment for tongue cancer February 7, 2010.

Any advice, tips and suggestions would be great.

Thanks - Cathy

    For me the pain started
For me the pain started after a couple of days and it continued constintly throughout treatment. The only things that I can suggest are pain medication from his doctors and limiting physical activity/movement.

    Did it ever get better
Did it ever get better? or did you have to wait until after all the treatments for it to stop?

    Eventualy
Eventualy I was on a pump giving me 5cc of morfine an hour and when I was getting medications at a high does before my body began to have a tolerance for them it did get better. However everybody is different so it may never have to get to that point.
