"The National Institues of Health estimate that 275,000 patients in the United States undergo 5-FU therapy annually and 1,300 die from accidental overdoses or poor drug clearance. While no antidote for 5-FU overexposure has been approved by regulatory authorities, uridine triacetate (formerly known as vistonuridine) has been made available to physicians for emergency use."
Article is about that drug, made by Wellstat Therapeutics and 5-FU, dated 5/21.

    I read an article on
I read an article on grapefruit
interfering with certain drugs.I looked it up
on the internet and it said grapefruit has an ingredient
that slows the way the liver clears toxins from the blood.
the internet had a long list of drugs you should not ingest grapefruit
with, one of them being xeloda. ( oral 5fu )Effects can last as long as 72 hours.
I love grapefruit and used to eat it every morning, but now that I am on xeloda
I forego it ( and miss it ).
