swelling after liver resection?

We are so thankful Jim's surgery went very well last Monday and he came home Saturday, but we're back at the hospital the next day already. He has a fever and urinary tract infection, an abcess he had to have drained and cleaned on his wrist and he has such a swollen belly. He is belching and vomiting a small amount of phlem. I know you're supposed to feel pretty lousy a week after surgery, but I wondered if anyone else has dealt with this type of swelling from a liver resection and how long before it goes down? Remember he had his colon resection done March 17th.

    oh I so sorry to hear about that....sounds nasty. After my 2nd liver resection I landed in hospital after 2 days at home...I could not get pain under control and was very busy vomiting. Because of all the staples and bandages I can't really say how swollen my belly was. It is not a walk in the park and does take a couple of weeks at least to find your legs under you so to speak
