I finished rads yesterday! I am so ready to start my new normal life. I came through it pretty well so far with only some minor fatigue and skin redness and peeling. I am fair skinned and large breasted so my rad dr thought i would experience more skin irritation than I did. I put lotions and cremes on like 5 times a day. I see the surgeon on Monday for followup then hopefully I am done until I have a new baseline mammo in a couple months. I walked the rad journey with all of you sisters holding my hand because my husband and teenage children are and were not there for me. They seemed to think that it was no big deal and I was totally fine "because I was getting radiation treatment so therefore no worries". I was "normal" again to them. I am disappointed in their lack of concern. I don't want a pity party from anyone I just want them to show they care by supporting me through this difficult time. Thanks to all of you for being there for me when I needed some encouragement and positive thoughts.

    Hooray for Terri!
Congratulations! You still may be tired - I was warned that it might 'catch up' about 2 weeks post rads. But, Woo-hoo! Do the happy dance!

    Hurray for you
I'm approaching halfway through so I am beginning to understand what being done must feel like.

I'm glad you're done and sorry you don't feel you got the support you needed. That doesn't feel good.

I think the fatigue is starting on me too. Hope you feel better soon. I'm half way done, no burning yet.

I am so happy for you
Congrats on completion of rads. I am scheduled to start on 5/13 and I would be lying if I said I am not just a little anxious about it. I can't wait to the day I can say "finished rads". Way to go Terri!

    I'm in the same boat...
but I brought it on myself by telling everyone the worst is over. Now I'm getting my self pity party going full swing! Only 3 more treatments to my scar area only. Can't wait to be done with it. Then to move on to arimadex...
