Rough day at the hospital

Lyle went in for his procedure to remove the stent and place the feeding tube. The stent will stay in due to tissue beginning to grow around it. Not what we wanted to hear. The feeding tube was placed so hopefully we can keep this guy hydrated and nurished! During the procedure Lyle started throwing up green stuff (bile) and he aspirated some of it into his lungs. His heart rate went so fast that his heart wasn't really beating. So many meds later...they stabilized him. They were going to send him to ICU...but he started improving enough to go to his own room again. They talked to me about temporary lung damage from the stomach acid and the possibility of pneumonia setting in. They have given him antibiotics in hopes of keeping that away. Problem...they have given him so much fluid based stuff...that his is swollen and holding fluids. Mighty dangerous for a dialysis patient. So...today they are going to dialize him in the hospital...and we will talk about going home.

Good new...when the doctor was in there looking at the stent...he doesn't see much of the tumor! So...at least we know radiation is working!!

    Boy, Susie that was not a good day, glad they are keeping him and watching over him for now. It is good that they saw no evidence of a tumor, that is great. Will keep you and Lyle in my prayers that everything goes smoothly now. He is some strong man no wonder he is your prince.

    That is good news the tumor has shrunk so much ---- horrible Lyle has to go through the rest of the stuff. He is lucky to have you by his side. I hope he starts to feel better once he can get some calories in him and begin to regain some of his strength. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

    Lyle, so happy to hear you are home from the hospital and feeling better! Keep on getting better and better....

    Susie, you talk about Lyle being your prince....I think you are also "his princess".... How romantic you both are!....It's so sweet to hear!

    Hopefully Lyle has turned a corner and things will be a bit easier now. Great news about the tumor shrinking.

    phew!!!
    phew.... Tel Lyle to take it easy---he gave us a scare! Have a wonderful weekend with him!
