Turns out he still does do Big Stadium Gigs, etc...but there is a couple who have a seasonal music/poetry thingy in our small town, and don't ask me how , but Donovan got wind of it and asked if he could be there, as he was just finishing up some tour. So, the couple said...YEAH! And he said, OK, and the wife of the couple emailed me, and ta-da~ Reggie and I are going!0 -

He also did the soundtrack to one of my favorite movies, which most people have never seen, called Brother Sun, Sister Moon. It's a movies about St. Francis of Assisi.

No wonder we are fighting BC and winning! With EXTREME love and respect, tempered with sadness that there are any young women on these, or ANY cancer boards~so many of us came of age in the 60's, or had parents who did that it has given us a life experience those who follow us can only imagine! Rock on, sisters! I am grinning ear to ear! You are all at the concert with me; I truly go almost no place cool without you all at my side!

I can't wait to hear about it! Please post it. Oh the hours I've spent listening to his music. How I've dreamed of seeing him in person. You are sooooo lucky! Mellow Yellow is gently playing in my mind. Thank you for posting this and letting me relive a time more innocent and happy. You took me to a place I've left too far, and too long behind.0 -

There may be pretty much no barrier at all, actually! This is a small venue, in the "dance hall" part of my local saloon~ it holds maybe a hundred people! The people who are hosting the event are friends of mine, and I PROMISE I will do my absolute BEST to get up close and personal. If , for some reason I can't meet/touch him, just know that I will be in a small room, filled with the essence of the Wonder Years, and you will be there with me, as will all the Kindred Spirits who long for that innocent, happy time you mentioned.

PS... a more innocent time aside, Isn't it sad to think that 43 YEARS later, Universal Soldier is still appropriate todasy? If we had the folk singers/protest songs NOW as we did then, perhaps the tide would indeed turn.

I sigh along with you Chen. Unfortunately it takes a bit more than songs. I often wonder how the "man" is getting away with so much. I think there is a huge amount of discontent that we don't hear about. No leaders? Are we afraid today? Has the foe become larger and the people smaller? We could come up with theory after theory, but that doesn't change a thing. It is one of the facts of this world that truly weighs heavy in my heart. Unfortunately I am better and wiser at adapting to change than instigating it.0 -
