    So sorry, shortscake...
For this new and additional worry. I will keep you within my prayers and hopeful thoughts.

No wonder you don't know if you're coming or going! It's so hard to be geared up for one thing, and then suddenly turned back around. Never be sorry - not here - about a vent. Gosh, yours is totally understandable.

    Continued best wishes your way...

    Kind regards, Susan

    My bone mets
were found during a bone scan, then MRI. My onc called it secondary bone cancer and said it is fairly common and very treatable. I finished my breast cancer chemo , surgery, and rads in Oct and then in Dec started the Taxol/Zometa treatments for the bone mets. Lost my hair AGAIN!!! I will find out this week where we are in the treatment. If the bone thing has stabilized, we just do the Zometa. I am so sorry that this just keeps piling up for you. My treatments are weekly because the Taxol kicked my a** my first treatment. The achiness days 3, 4, and 5 after treatment can sometimes bring me to my knees, yet others are fine on Taxol. Hopefully. your treatments will be tolerable and they can get it under control. I am sending you hugs and prayers because I know you are dealing with a lot. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

    Mets to Bone
I have breast cancer with mets to bone. The dr calls it "distant breast cancer". He said it's not bone cancer, but breast cancer that has spread to bone, so it responds to breast cancer treatments. Shortscake, I'm so sorry you're going through this! I am on Femara and Zometa. So far so good, with few side effects. But of course, everyone is different. The first treatment of Zometa gave me quite a bad time, but it's been smooth sailing ever since. I hope your treatments go well. Hugs and prayers to you. Gracie.

    Shortscake,

You have every right to vent. Heck, you should be having a downright, fullfledged temper tantrum. You have been through it all. So many things piled on your plate. My gosh, I am surprised that you are not jumping up and down, and screaming at the top of your lungs. It seems that your doctors are working hard to give you the best possible care and that is so important. And having strength to fight is good too. I don't know if this means bone cancer. You will have to ask your team but it looks like that is how they are treating this. You are amazing and I truly admire your strength and courage through all of this. Girl power, indeed, you are like super, duper, girl power times 100.
My prayers and good thoughts are reaching out to you.

    Shortscake,
I am sorry for all you are going through both with your mom and your treatment. It sounds like you need a good sit-down with your oncologist. If he is changing your treatment due to the hot spots, it sounds like bone metastasis. It's not bone cancer, but breast cancer that has spread to the bones. Hot spots can also mean arthritis though, so talk to your doctor. Hugs and I hope your day gets better.

I also have bone mets, i have completed chemo but i still get monthly infusions of Zometa. I had a couple of hot spot show up on my bone scan and then my petscan confirmed they were cancer. My oncologist told me this this treatable, but it does concern him. I was diagnosed over 1 1/2 years ago. take care

    Sorry Shortcake
I'm sending prayers your way. I have bone mets and have been on zometa for 2 years now. The infusion lasts only 15 minutes and I've experienced very little side effects. The only thing I notice after I have my monthly infusion is I tend to feel a little achy for a day or two. But it definitely helps to keep the bones strong. I havent been on the other two treatments you mentioned.

    Stay strong!

    God bless!
Wow, and God doesn't give us more than we can handle? You must be one STRONG lady, Shorts! PLEASE feel free to vent... we all want to help in any way possible. Yes, they are only words but hopefully you feel the care, concern, compassion and sympathy that comes from all the sisters here on this board. Just wondering why they did the CT scan in the first place? It's great they found it regardless and that they are treating it. Today will be a very sad day for you and I hope you are surrounded by love to help you get through it! God bless you today and through the days ahead. There IS light at the end of this dark tunnel, Shorts! Keep up your strength and fight with all that you have!

    Love, Mar
