Finally got that drain out today! Wow, that really feels good! Think I might be able to sleep tonight! To celebrate, I went to Walmart and bought the new Harry Potter movie to watch tonight. I am a really big fan of the movies. I have a question, the nurse was telling me about lymphedema and suggested that I get an ID bracelet. Been looking all over the net and they aren't easy to find. Have any of you gotten one? And if so where did you find it? Oh yes got a little good news from the doc,,he says the margins were clear and had cancer only in the first centnal node! So I guess it's kemo and rads for me. Will know more later.

I saw 2 online.... one at lymphnet.org it was sterling and ran about 20 dollars, and another one at lymphedema.com which was FREE! I know nothing about either company, but they do exist! Good luck!

what a great idea, the lymphedema bracelet. I had a technician the other day get a little pissy because she pricked me twice in the right arm and I wouldn't let her move onto the left arm. When I told her why she backed off and got someone else to stick the needle in my right arm.

oh and as for those drains, I had 4, two in my armpit and two down by my stomach because of reconstruction and each time I got into bed the 4 of them landed between my legs like a bunch of testicals. I am glad I am not a guy!

It was about $8 just some kind of metal. Has printed "Lymphedema Alert, No blood pressure, No needles into this arm"

The free one I thought was good for surgery, but, the hospital made someone else take it off. They have their own ones to put on. I think you just have to ask your hospital for one if you want one on prior to a surgery. Also, just google lymphedema bracelets. I found a lot of good sites from cheap to expensive.

I bought my bracelet from the American Cancer Society TLC shop which is on this website. You can order them online.

Glad you got your tubes out. Those things were a pain. Literally. Let me know how the movie is. I did not know that one was out yet.

The movie was great! The one I bought was The Half Blood Prince. The other one won't be out for a while yet. But I didn't go to the theather to see this one cause I HATE going there, I like the old fashioned drive In's I slept ssssooo good last night. About 7 hours, the most since I started thru this journey! So today looks like a great day. I have my first appt. with the medical oncologist on the 15th so I'll know how the fight is going to go.

I really had to laugh at your description of your drains and where the landed at night. I had reconstructive surgery in December and went home with three drains, and that's just about the same place mine landed each night. I just didn't think about it in the same way. It's always great to have a good laugh!!! Connie

I got a brochure from my nurse at the cancer center that has them it in. It is called the "TLC" brochure through the American Cancer Society. The toll free number is 1-800-850-9445. You can go to the website also: www.tlcdirect.org. I just ordered myself one the other day. They are stainless steel mesh and cost $35. The item number is 8061.
