"World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. It is led by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), a global consortium of more than 280 cancer-fighting organizations in over 90 countries. World Cancer Day targets the public through global communications marking, and encourages policy makers and UICC member organizations to make cancer a political priority."

I am not making any political statement~ just thought we should know that there actually is a World Cancer Day~ and won't it be even more wonderful when we can celebrate a NO CANCER DAY globally????

Hugs,
Chen♥

    Thanks, dear Kindred Spirit...
Today is an important day, indeed. Well worth recognizing. And well worth this thread - so, again, thank you for calling attention to it here on the BC Board.

Yes - we all hope for the time when this day will no longer be needed. When this site will no longer have a reason to exist.

I also sincerely hope that I'll be able to celebrate that day with all of you - pink sisters, and all cancer survivors.

    Kindest regards, 12/25 xo

BTW 12/25, the reason I know about World Cancer Day is the email I got this morning from the LAF! Lance reminding us all that he battled cancer 3 times, and was saved by medical intervention coupled with Early Detection!

    Go Lance!!!!!!!
