We are expecting anywhere from 5 to 13 inches of snow starting midnight tonight and lasting until Sunday morning. Since the weekend is doomed for shopping, we are going to bake and make snowmen. My greatnephew is from Florida and has never seen snow, so this will be an amazing day for him.

What plans does everyone have?

    Snow?
That is a lot of snow Pat. I hope you don't get all of that. I just want some for Christmas and then for it to go away.

We are going to finish cleaning the house really good and put the finishing touches on the decorating for xmas. Also planning on doing some baking. I love to make all of the cookies and decorate them with our family.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Hugs, Diane ♥

We are going to bravely get
We are going to bravely get out and finish our Christmas shopping. I hate that we still have to go to the malls as it will be crazy there. But, we got a late start on it and this is what happened. There are a lot of great buys out there, so, we are buying more than we even thought we would.

On Sunday we are making fudge and baking cookies too. I love the smell of the house with everything baking.

Hope you don't get all of that snow Pat.

    HUGS to ALL!

    My sons and their families
My sons and their families will be here celebrating the holiday early with us. cant wait to see those grandbabies. My son Matt is driving from Greensboro, NC and they are expecting snow today and tonight. Once he gets past the Carolinas he will be ok with driving I hope. We are expecting rain in Florida. Seems to be very stormy in many parts of the country. Wishing everyone a good weekend.

    My weatherbug keeps blinking
My weatherbug keeps blinking - I'm sure we will get it. My other niece in Florida is dealing with the flooding and wishes she could be up here with us for the snow. I can't wait for the house to smell like baking - I've found a lot of new recipes to try this year!
Have fun shopping if you can!

    In the low 70s
With the gorgeous weather expected this weekend (sunny, in the low 70s), I plan to prune rose bushes, finish and mail an overdue report, start work on a class I will teach next semester, bake dozens of 6 kinds of cookies and take them to neighbors, walk the dog daily, and wrap presents and put them under the tree. Hahaha. If I get a third of that done, I will feel good!

I love the snow! We got about 9' of a coupe of weeks ago with 12-14' drifts from the wind and still have a lot of it on the ground. It was the light fluffy kind of snow that is fun to make snow angels with. I've been known to go out and play in the snow and make snow families but was too sick with my cold to do that with this past snow. Maybe I'll catch the next one :)

Plans for the weekend are to finish shopping, wrapping and bake cookies. Have fun everyone!

    Crselby,
I would be lucky if I got one of them done. I admire your ambition. And nice that you will have pleasant, actually lovely, weather in which to do these.

Taking care of grandkids this weekend.

    I babysat Jo on Thursday.
I babysat Jo on Thursday. She fell asleep a half hour after I arrived and woke up 10 minutes before her Papa got home. JJ and Mama were at preschool (mom's day to work) so I didn't get to see him but for a moment. But we will be staying over night Christmas Eve so that will be great.
This weekend, I am going with my sister on Saturday to keep her company while she looks for a new car. I will be buying her lunch for her birthday. It was last weekend but she had other plans for the day so it's belated. Then Sunday is my wedding anniversary. We are going to go out for a nice dinner and then home and relax and cuddle. I mentioned before that I always get it mixed up and can never remember if it is the 18th or the 20th but I looked at my marriage certificate this morning so now I know (for this year anyway) My hubby always remembers though. It is 32 years for us and I have loved every minute of it. There is a reason that I cannot remember the date. Den and I lived together for several years and had Denise in 1975. We decided to get married in 1977 when we bought our first house. We were new to the area and called the local minister of the Luthern church and set a date in November. We were only having my mom, sister, and step dad come up for the ceremony. During the week before the ceremony the minister called and said that he had a couple that had an illness in the family and they were going to have to go back east. They were supposed to be married in December but that wasn't going to happen. He asked if we would give up our day so they could throw together their wedding. Of course, we were willing to do that. So we reset the date to December and somehow I just never got the new date in my head. I have, of course, forgotten the other date as well. I just remember it was either the day before or the day after my mom's birthday. Now I always remember my mon's and stepdad's anniversary but that's because my daughter was born on that day. I also forget most everyone's birthday's in my family. I know the months and general area but if I didn't put them on a calendar, I would blow it big time.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and finishes up all their shopping and decorating and baking.

    Hi Stef
Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a really nice time and enjoy your day. I like the cuddle part. Its already snowing now and the weatherman said it will be of "Epic" proportions and a record breaker. It makes me nervous. I live in a trailer and have to watch the chimney. If the snow covers it the pilot light could go out. Thank God I have my brother and his daughter here. She is young and spry and between the three of us we can keep it clear. The other thing is both my front and back doors open out. Gotta keep getting up at night to clear the snow so we can get out if we need to. I had an oncologist appointment and my cell count is up to 33.9, so I don't go back for a month. Then we went to Target and bought Santa gifts for my greatnephew who is 3 and a half. This is this Florida kid's first snow and we can't wait to see his face when he sees it in the morning. While they are out playing in it, I will be baking cookies and making hot chocolate. Have fun this weekend everyone!

    Let it snow!
    Hi All,

I'm in Guilford, CT and we are expecting 14 inches of snow. On the shore, we normally don't get much snow so I'm really excited. Did almost all my shopping already so being snowed in and watching holiday movies is fine with me. I'll be making stew and sitting in front of the fireplace. It doesn't get better than that! My house is clean and decorated so it is a treat to enjoy it without a house full of guests to entertain. I'm resting up for next week when I have my family Christmas Eve for a festive dinner and my husband's family for Christmas Day. I am truly blessed!

    Have a wonderful week end.
