Hi all my csn folks-- I am praying for all on this site...some are caregivers--worrying about loved ones, some are EC patients--but we are all looking for hope.

Well-there is hope. My dad had surgery on 12/7 at Duke. He is not home yet like PGmomma's dad---but is walking 1-2 miles a day and down to a feeding tube, chest drain and occasional IV for meds. Donna---I am praying for you every time I think of my dad and hope your surgery & recovery is going well too. (RevLee--hope your hubby is doing well also)I apologize--I have not been able to keep up with every one- I have been out of town to Duke where my dad had surgery an then to out of town kid activities. You just don't realize how much you use your computer until you can't!

Anyway---my dad still has to wait for his "leak test" tomorrow-and has had a bought with high glucose, where he needs temporary insulin today. My mom says he's "down" which is not like him.

BUT-- we got the GREATEST NEWS---his pathology report came back great! all the margins were clear of live cancer cells!!! They took 23 ( think) lymph nodes and they were all negative for cancer!!! We were always afraid it might be a stage 4, but the Dr said it was a stage 3 EC and, of course will have to be followed every 6 months at least.

I am still somewhat awestruck---so happy for my mom and dad! My mom said my dad was teary eyed when the surgeon told him the news...
