I've been on Femara for about 6 weeks, and so far I'm fine on it. Its being used to shrink my tumors so I can have surgery. My onc told my side effects might include hot flashes, joint pain, fatigue, nausea, weight gain and then there are serious side effects that all drugs carry. Since I have diabetes, High blood pressure, asthma and fibromyalgia I already feel tired and have body pain, so for the most part I haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary. Maybe I haven't been on Femara long enough for side effects to sit in.
Best wishes and hope you don't have any side effects. I hear Femara is a good therapy. Others here on this site may be able to help you more.

I've been on Femara for nearly 3 months. So far the side effects are mostly hot flashes and night sweats. Occasionally, I experience a momentary light headedness. While I don't wish to have any more serious side effects, I'm prepared to deal with whatever comes as long as the Femara keeps doing what it's supposed to do.

All of the aromatase inhibitors (femara, aromisin, arimidex) can cause joint pain and fatigue. Everyone's reactions and side effects are different. I take arimidex and switched to taking it in the evening as opposed to morning because I felt tired and achy. I've done much better with the PM dose. I had neck pain (like a crick in my neck) off and on for about a month, but that has disappeared. For me, there was a definite adjustment period. I have been on arimidex since April and am now doing well on it. Hang in there!
