update for Mac1212

Hey everybody, the surgery went very well. I am am doing well and have been up and around walking already. I even got a bonus..my surgeon took out my appendix while I was under. They have been doing my pain management with an epidural. That has worked out really well and they will be switching me to oral pain meds tomorrow or Monday. Anyway that is all and I will keep you updated as I find things out.

    So glad that your surgery went so well and that you are up and walking around. That is going to help you heal so much faster. I know it doesn't seem so right now, but the more you walk the better you will feel. Keep us informed on how you are doing and thanks for taking the time out - even after your major surgery - to let us know that you are doing ok. Thinking and praying for you.

    Thats great news that you are up and walking around...The more you walk the less gas problems you will have..I didn't walk enough and at one point I thought I was going to have a heart attack..It was just trapped gas but boy was that painful and scarey...Then I was burping like it came from my toes up and after that I was fine...So WALK WALK and WALK....You will be home before you know it and boy will that feel good....Keep on plugging along.We are all here for you...JULIE

    Walk and walk some more
    I was also told to walk, by both surgeon who did procedure as well as many people from this site. At frst I was reluctant to do so due to pain and stayed in bed all the time but eventually started walking more and more around apartment. Also rec'd stronger pain killers and started using Fentanyl pain patch. Hope your pain is minimal and recovery quick.....Steve

    Was able to go home today
    Went home today. The new puppies we got before my surgery were spayed and neutered today so we are all bumming around. I feel pretty good so far.
