Now that you mention it I had slight dull headaches but not too bad.I don't usually get headaches so I'm glad you brought it up. I did have a very dry mouth and felt like I'd had way too much caffeine.

For me, prednisone was a miracle drug and eased many symptoms. There are side effects but if your Dr. approves, stick with it.

It's so strange how medications work for one and not another. I can't sleep at all when taking prednisone and get all shaky and nervous. It doesn't stimulate my appetite at all and also makes me feel like my hormones are all out of whack. I get weepy and aggitated very easily and my hubby just hates it when I have to use it. He keeps his distance and has very little to say about anything for fear of how I will re-act. Not a good drug for me! ): Sue

Pretty much the same reactions for me Sue, HOWEVER I ate everything and all night long.
I had taken prednisone before in smaller doses and not had too bad a reaction, but chemo dose prednisone threw me over the edge.

whew!! Damn, it just got sooooo hot in here. Friggin hot flashes!!

I clean up the language only in here LOL. Usually it's much worse and depends on who's within hearing distance LOL.

I hate this stupid drug, it has such bad side effects, after all it's a steroid drug.

Thought I would add to the comments. I had prednisone last winter for a shoulder injury, not the big doses like you guys are having. Didn't have much in the way of reactions, I think it was the big dose narcotics at the same time that dulled my senses, if you know what I mean. Talking about the Hot Flashes, at the young age of 42 after Rads for thy ca mets I was sent into menopause hot h**l instantly. One day I am young and fertile and the next, Wham bam and no thanks mam! No slow easy entrance into the golden time of life. Just slap me around and call me old.

My hubby can relate to the wham bam....especially when one of my hot flashes starts while we are cuddling or "whatever"... he just doesn't know what to do with himself! One minute we are lovey and the next instant I'm flying out of bed headed for the closest fan. We laugh so much our sides hurt. One of the many tales of growing old together.ha!

When my partner has to use it, I do keep some distance due to her aggesion as result.
She is dominant, but after the prednison as part of the chop treatment such is even worse.

It usually gives me energy, but then comes the crash. It doesn't make me hungry but I swell up or bloat whatever you want to call it. I hate that crap and can't wait till I don't have to take them any more.

I remember taking it about 2 years ago for back pain (or something else I can't remember) and I barely could not sleep for 5 days - starting to have headaches, cranky and ready to kill someone (literally) so I stopped right then. It was HORRIBLE!!! Hope there is something else that I can tolerate than this.
