Does anyone else have these stupid beetles/ladybugs in their houses? They were mainly just outside, but, now they are coming inside and they are driving me nuts! Well, more nuts. haha

I have been sweeping them up with my sweeper. I just hope they stay in that sweeper bag. They smell too...EWWWWWW! I squeezed a couple ( yes, i can be mean and evil HA ) and I think they "pooped" on me. Seriously, this orange foul smelling stuff came out of them. So, NO more squeezing them to death for me. Mr. Vacuum...do your stuff! VAROOMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Love, Jeanne ♥

The Beatles is playing right now and we watched a Beatle movie last night, A Hard Day's Night so I thought you meant them!

We used to have that problem in Indiana. My husband would spray the outside of the house but other than that you just need to seal all the holes they may be coming in at. BTW ladybugs are supposed to be bring luck if they come in your house.

PS I'm adding that my husband also filled some cracks in the foundation and siding that he thought they were coming in at.

Ha ha. I also thought you were talking about the The Beatles, and that you were struck with a sudden case of Beatles mania. I pictured you listening to their albums over and over and becoming obsessed. LOL.

As for the BEETLES, yes we have them, too. I try to ignore them and my cats get to them eventually. Maybe you could get one of those Rumbas that are self-powered. Then you could just run the machine and have it chase the beetles away.

Okay I will confess I thought you were being nostalgic and listening to Beatles music, thanks Marcia and Mimi looks like we think alike! My favorite Beatles movie was HELP! I loved Ringo Star as a child and that one for me was the best!

So Jeanne get you IPOD put on some Beatles music and get that vacumn to do its magic!

Hugs,

You girls are funny! It never occurred to me that anyone would think I was talking about the Beatles, but, what fun to bring back those memories. Gawd, I am old! LOL I remember their appearance on the Ed Sullivan show!

And, RE, I am sweeping these buggers up like there is no tomorrow. I will have the cleanest carpet ever before this is done!

you are making me feel really old. At the time Hard Days Night was filmed I was the same age as the girls screaming in the audience. I never could understand why they were screaming so loud that they couldn't hear the music. One of the guys filming (I forget which one) said the vibrations loosened his fillings and he had to have them replaced. Or was it his teeth, I forget now. It was mania for sure. And I still don't understand it.

I just looked it up: Hard Day's Night was filmed exactly 10 years before I was born. Weird. Maybe I should have Beattles mania, too.

Have also heard they are good luck. I think those are the ones that bite though. Had the same problem many years ago in Indiana. I can't remember the name of it, but there was this plastic bag thing you can hang up & it attracted them into there and they can't get out. Hope you can resolve your invasion soon!

I heard there was some kind of ladybug infestation here in the East in NJ. I work in NY and have noticed many ladybugs on the windows at work. They said to make sure there are no cracks in your exterior as they get into them and eventually enter the house. Sounds possible. If you have alot, maybe you should call an exterminator and he can tell you what to do. Good luck! HUGS!! Cathy

And, Mimi, you make me feel old by your comment :( UGH! You sweet young thing! It is ok though, I will get past this.

I appreciate the help with these darn bugs, but, if you look at my Expressions Page, you will see that I live in the country and that I live in an old farmhouse. So, we kind of have 2 big things against us right there. Hubby did spray last night around the foundation, but, I am not for sure that it helped since it rained today. It probably washed it away. Maybe, when they start harvesting the beans around us, they will go far, far away! Tasha, you want them in Canada? Or, Claudia, you CA girls want them?

Love, Jeanne ♥

I loved this post on so many levels. I remember when the Beatles came to the SF bay area. My best friend's mom found out where their plane was being shuttled SFO. She worked for Airborne Air Frieght and their hanger area was used for VIP (Presidents, Diplomats, Stars and the Beatles) So we went down there and saw them. They greeted the little crowd that gathered and it was unbelievable how much screaming was done by such a little group. I liked them but was quite that into them, but my friend was standing in the back of the pickup truck, tears streaming down her face, saying that Paul looked at her, right at her. She had the room with floor to ceiling and on the ceiling pictures of them. Paul was on her door and everyday she kissed him goodbye. The lips actually worn off on these magazine picture. So thanks for that walk down memory lane. I actually went steady with a boy in high school that was the spitting image of Ringo. Kind of homely but so, so sweet. His looking like Ringo was a huge boost to his popularity over the next few years. But I just liked him because he was so sweet.
And we used to have ladybugs assaults. Just vacuumed them up and then threw out the bag. It never lasted long. Didn't know about the luck thing. Thinking that their luck was bad and how good could mine have been when I was destroying them. But you didn't say they had to stay alive once they were in the house. So Jeanne, think of all the good luck you are accumulating. Way to go.
And then the whole picture came to my mind of little ladybugs with the faces of John, Paul, Ringo, and George. Kind of like the movie The Fly (the original) with the fly with the man's head in the spider web. Jeanne, listen closely, are any of them singing Elenor Rigby, or perhaps Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. CooCooAchoo, I am the walrus.
Thanks for the laugh, even though I am sure you weren't laughing. I hate bugs in the house.

I have Ladybirds between all the storm windows, and I have 2 in my Jeep! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh.. I can't swat them like I do spiders and flies because they are good for getting rid of whitefly and aphids........
As for The Beatles............well Ringo was nice, so was George, but the other two's egos made them totally obnoxious......I was brought up not far from Liverpool.
I can't stand to see Paul McCartney now, he's old, sad and as untalented as ever.

My favourite song was the Fool on the Hill, and Hey Jude, I was probably 10 years old when the Help album was released...........

I have them everywhere and yes they have a fowl odor. STINKY STINKY Bugs. There Asian Beetles and this is the time of year for them. I kill 'em all day long, go to bed and in the morning their back. Driving me nuts! NO NO NO don't squash 'em they really smell then, they stink just by lightly touching 'em. I went and got some raid and I spray 'em, bad thing is, they always hibernate on my kitchen ceiling.
I Feel Your Beetle Pain,

This post is funny. Talking about beetles and the Beatles! Yea, we have those ladybugs or beetles too. I hope they go away soon. They do seem to go for the sunny windows. I smashed them too and they do stink. So, now I am using the sweeper.

And, I do like the Beatles songs. I don't hear them much anymore being played.

I think they stop when it freezes out, if I remember correctly. But if they are already in the house you might have to get rid of them yourself.

Yeah, still takes two tries to post.

Someone suggested to put a container of liquid soap and water out. I did and just got a couple of them. HA! So, I don't think that works too well.

Beer? I think that is for slugs. I also tried the soap and water, didn't work. I think we just have to wait for a frost to kill them. So, come on FROST!

They have been saying on the news that probably only a hard frost or freeze will eliminate them. I never thought I would want that yet, but, I am tired of the stupid bugs too.

And, are all of the Beatles dead except for Paul? Is Ringo still alive?

Beer is great for snails. I had a friend who had a snail infestation. She got a big tub and filled it with beer. She had all her kids gather up all the snails they could and dumped them in the tub. Now, she didn't want to traumatize them by seeing them foam and die so she told them they were giving them a bubble bath. After the main event, she told them to go in the house and she would put them all back. The next day and day after she did the same thing. When they were all gone, she told the kids they were all clean and had gone home to their mommas. They were obviously very little kids, but they loved the snail bubble bath and told everyone at school about it. I thought it was too funny but then I am a little twisted. And I can't stand snails.

Ok Stef, if I give the snails a little beer, then I consume the rest, will the beetles disappear? I think they just might! HAHA

They are worse now since it has warmed up. I HATE these things!

They are getting worse here now. The weather has gotten warmer and I think that is making them reproduce. Guess they don't have birth control :-(

Instead of sweeping them up, just put some soap and water in a little container and drown the buggers! lol Then, you shouldn't have the smell.

They say they come in when the weather gets cool outside. I have had an attack of those little pissants, all around my kitchen counter. In previous years I just raided the window and under the sink and they were gone, but my new kitty who is much younger than my old (RIP) kitty loves to lay up on that windowsill, so this year i can't spray. I did when I went away for a few days, then washed good when I got home, but there are still some stragglers. They say if they are still around after the first frost (which we are supposed to get tonight) then the nest is in the house already and you are screwed. Oh well - I will find out tomorrow morning! You got stinkbugs???? EWWWW, hate those things. Wish I knew how to tell you to get rid of them, did u google it?

I don't have stinkbugs and I don't think that is what they are talking about Pat. These are beetles or ladybugs that are around now because of the farm crops, beans in particular. They will probably die with a hard frost or when the beans are out of the fields. It is common this time of year. They are just a nuisance until the crops are harvested and the farmers are late this year.

Diane is right Pat. These aren't stinkbugs, not even close. And, they are just because of the farm crops. Everyone here has them whether they live in town or the country, in a new house or an old house. The first frost or freeze will kill them. So, come on freeze!
