stinging feet from doxil

Hi ladies, I have a question for those doxil vets. I finished my second cycle of doxil last week. Nothing severe happening and I feel good overall. I have been taking all the advice about nothing hot, tight, and creaming a lot. Sometimes my feet and hands get red and even hot, but cool down after icing. Yesterday, however I noticed some little dark marks on my feet that look like slivers. I feel a bit of a stinging and it is uncomfortable to walk. Is this the beginning of blisters? Should I soak in ice water? Can anything take those funny little specs away?
Any input welcome,
Hugs,
kathleen :)

    Praying for you
Dear Kathleen, I hope that the "slivers" are clear by the time you read this. Since I had only one dose of the doxil, I can't share an experience with the hands and feet thing. I am thinking and praying for your swift recovery. Saundra

    Thanks,
Saundra! They did go away. Not at all sure what the deal was. I spent too much time standing on them, but I had way too much fun walking all over Osaka. (Probably not a wise thing to do.....)
Now, I have cold sores developing, but am loading up on the lysine, so hoping that will kick in. It is always something isn't it?
Good news is that after one cycle the CA came down 50 points. I hope that is a trend and not a fluke. I am taking as a good sign and believing for more.
    How are you?
    Kathleen

    Doxil side affect
Hi Kathleen, yes this the side affect from doxi, soak in the cool water and start soaking your feet before you get the next chemo. I had rice bags that I kept in the freezer and gel packs and would put them in the end of my bed to keep my feet cool. My feet were the hardest to stay on top of, but never got as bad as most people because of all the soaks and lotion. Do you eat ice chips during infusion, one of the nurses told me to do this as it is suppose to help also. So glad to read it cleared up for you. Hugs ♥ Prayers Bonnie
