    This is one step closer.
What helped me during surgery and treatment was to tell myself that with every procedure and/or treatment I was one step closer to getting my life back. I'll keep you in my thoughts. You'll do great!

    Thank you!!!
You ladies are wonderful!!! Its over!!! :D I wasn't feeling very well a couple of hours ago because of nausea and pain, but I am feeling much much better right now. So of course I decided to thank everybody for the best wishes, support and advice!!! The procedure went well and I just a minor problem. I think my nurse cut herself during my surgery and they had to take another blood test. I got scared because I wasn’t fully awake at that point and didn’t know why I had to be have another blood test. Other than that everything is pretty normal. I am in a bit of pain (actually a lot more than last time) and barely have any swelling so I would say I am doing pretty well. :D

    Glad it went well!
One more major step on the riad to recovery.
Just take any pain meds you need and let your body heal. It may take a little longer if your previous surgeries were recent. Just give yourself as much time as you need.
    Take care,
    Cindy

So today my doctor called me to see how I was feeling and to further explain the mix up that happened during surgery. I have a phyllodes tumor so my it tends to spread to the lungs and/or chest wall rather than the lymph nodes. I had taken x-ray exams last week and still hadn’t gotten my results back. Sigh of relief! The x-rays came out clear meaning it didn’t spread to my lungs/ or chest! I am soo relieved over this. Thank you for the prayers! I will continue praying for all you too! Now I am off to sleep and more rest!

    Well
My type of tumor doesnt respond well to chemo, so surgery is the only treatment that is usually offered. Right now I waiting for the results of this second surgery to see if i am "in the clear" or if i will need to get a mastectomy. The fact that there only one type of treatment scares me sooo soo much.

    Hi Belen,
I have just now come across your post, I'm so happy that the surgury went well for you, and I will be praying that you results come back good as well.
I can't believe how strong and brave you've been for someone so young. I will keep you in my prayers as your story has truely touched my heart.

God Bless you and may your future be bright,

    Aurora

    Hi Belen
If I were told there was only one type of treatment, I would get through the surgery and focus on strengthening my immune system. If you would like information on this, many of the women on this site have read extensively on this. Mimi is a great resource and I'm sure she would be glad to coach you. I'm old enough to be your mom, but I have also read everything I can get my hands on about nutrition. We are warriers and need to be sure we are in the best shape to stay healthy. My oncologist said, "You are a healthy women who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being so healthy will help to protect you from a reoccurance." I can control what I eat, my weight (sometimes)and how much I exercise.

By the way, what did your doc say about radiation? I would also recommend getting a second opinion. Not that your doc isn't good, but 2 opinions might make you feel more secure. The oncologist will be your main person going forward so be sure you are comfortable with him/her. Many of us feel we are insulting the doc by saying we want a second opinion but I'm sure they would want one if they or one of their loved ones were going through this.

    You're doing great!
