Hello All:

Thanks to all for thinking of me and sending me private messages. I got my CT scan results back Monday afternoon. They aren't great. One of the tumors in my liver has grown from 7 CM to 13 cm - that's a good bit and probably why I have been having more pain in my back, side and liver area, plus my temp. has been up. I have had one tiny nodule in one of my lungs but it too has grown a little, however I now have nodlues in both lungs, - the scan says "these findings are very worrisome for early manifestation of mestatic nodular lung disease." So the oncologist has put me back on Xeloda and I will start taking Avastin again by IV tomorrow afternoon. Plus ,my cea is 834. It was 24 or 27 and my liver enzymes are getting out of range. I have had about two weeks to get used to the wacky lab resulsts, but just a few days for the scan results. My doc didn't say anything about that I needed to think about stopping work or at least cutting back, so I'm not. I'm going to keep on going like I always have. He increased my pain medicine to morphine - stopped the Lortab because of the possibility of future liver damaage. I've also have had to take some nausea medicine lately. That's where things stand now. Take Care. Roy

    Keep on going!
    Roy,

I'm sorry you got bad results, but I'm glad you're going to keep working and carrying on as usual. I hope you and your doctor can find some options that will improve the situation dramatically.

    *hugs*

    Oh, Roy,
    I'm so sorry to

    Oh, Roy,
I'm so sorry to hear this - I wish I could do more to help.
Know that 3000 miles away, John and I are rooting for you and sending you strength and tenacity. I've posted about this before, but John had some good results for nausea with (oddly enough) some little candies designed for pregnant women to combat morning sickness called Preggie Pop Drops. He said they worked faster than most of the Rx meds for nausea. Google them. He also had good luck with less - ahem - legal methods of nausea control. But only the first time around. It didn't work so well in conjunction with the extreme pain.

    Keep us posted, Pal,

    Adrian

Hard news but it sounds like you and your doc have a plan. It sounds like working and keeping busy is a good thing. Hope you're also taking time to do some enjoyable things.

    Awww Roy...
..Don't get in despair either, you never know, things can turn around! I didn't like the news I got a couple days ago either, but you just move on and battle it out, this thing is not going to take me, I will be hit by a bus first, just keep doing what you're doing, and have you tried Oxycotin and OxyCodone (for breakthrough pain)?? they actually work real well, and seem to give some nice energy too. You are in my thoughts and prayers :)

    Hugsss!
