Hello sisters, i know its been a long time since i've been on line ans thats only because my bones have been kinda painful. Today i started my chemo again. This time they have me on taxol & carboplatin. 1x a week for 3 weeks and then a week off and start cycle again, until further notice. The dr is trying to clear my liver up now, she says it needs attention. I'm still doing the aredia once a month for my bones and that appears to be working out pretty good. The fight continues and god is good. Praise


Any feedback on this taxol and carbo would be appreciated.

    We posted a thread the other day looking for you because it had been so long. It is so good to see you posting again. We have missed you and your beautiful face! I am so sorry about your pain.     Hi Babe -
    I was on the taxotere/carboplaten coctail. I don't know how much alike taxol and taxotere are, but they had me on it once every three weeks for six rounds. My hair fell out, and I'd get a little nauseous, but the oncoogist gave me pills for that, plus the anti nausea dose in the port right before the chemo. I only got sick once after the last chemo, but I think that was more of a mental thing. I took my chemo on Friday mornings and was fine to return to work on the Mondays after, with no problem other than being tired.

Hopefully the Taxol and Carboplatin will wipe out the bone lesions once and for all. I was on Taxotere, which is in the same class of drugs as Taxol. The one thing to watch out for is neuropathy in the hands and feet. If you start developing it, your doctor can try a different drug. I've heard lot of good things about Carboplatin and other platinum agents. They're coming up with new things everyday. Hang in there, Babe, and please don't be a stranger.

    So good to hear from you, just wish it was better news. Glad you are still in fighting form and hoping that the treatment will do its thing. Some good advice from the gals that have done this same treatment. I didn't do any chemo but I am sending my support, love and prayers to you.
