Its been 23 days since my final chemo and I am noticing my eyelashes thinning out. I just lost some while getting ready to go to the Fiesta For the Cure...I thought I was finished with hair loss???

I lost both my eyelashes and
I lost both my eyelashes and eyebrows at the end of chemo. Remember to wear sunglasses since you eyelashes are there to protect your eyes from debris falling in them, and they also shade your eyes from the sun. sunglasses are in style, so wear them even on a cloudy day, who cares. My eyebrows grew back with in a few days, however, the eyelashes took a few months. If they are really thin, you may just want to wear mascara. Take care,

    Me too!
I only finished chemo a week ago but my eye lashes and eye brows are getting thin too!. I thought I had escaped that. I'm so cranky about it. I'm sorry you have to go through that but it makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one suffering one last indignity from chemo. Time to go buy some new sunglasses!

that sucks... I lost mine half way through chemo... I wear fake eye lashes when I go out.. pain in the **** to put on.. but looks good when on.. takes a lot of practice to wear them... you can't tell unless you get real close...

I wear sunglasses when out side to protect my eyes...

I have about 3 lashes left!!!
I didn't lose them until my very last chemo. It's been about 5 weeks now since my chemo was over and I can see some coming in - don't worry - they'll be back eventually!
    take care -

Thank you all so much for
Thank you all so much for your replies! I really thought I was lucky and kept my lashes and brows. The brows are also thinning out. Its hard to pencil them in to look alike! But the lashes falling out? OMG they were already sparse to begin with. Even more fell out on the way to the event tonight, too. I look pretty funny with mascara on now! I just might get some false ones for when I want to wear makeup. I will definitely wear my sunglasses, thanks for the advice. I'm not glad this is happening to others but relieved to hear it is normal for it to happen at this point.

So I guess this is pretty
So I guess this is pretty common. I was really surprised. I had my final treatment on Sept. 8th and I thought since my hair is starting to come back in that I escaped losing them! Oh well like everyone says, they will grow back.

One of my best friends has the flavor of OCD that makes people pull out their lashes, and honestly when she wears smudged eyeliner nobody notices that there aren't actually lashes there.

    eyelashes
My hair started coming out on day 15 of chemo ... so I started wearing a hat that really came down pretty far on my forhead. It was spring and my eyes were really itching and watering so I assumed it was allergies/pollen etc... and stopped wearing makeup. One day I was going some place where I thought I needed a little makeup and I looked in my magnifying mirror ... and was shocked to see most of my eyelashes gone. That's what all the itchy-watery eye thing was about. I finished chemo the end of May and my lower lashes look great ... but the upper ones are still very, very short ... but they are coming in. I have a terrible time trying to put mascara on the upper lashes because it usually ends up all over my eyelid. I just have to be patient I guess.

    hugs.

    They also have a more
They also have a more readily available "eyelash tint" now that you might want to try since it's semi-permanent and builds up to a darker result day after day. I know you can get it at Target. That way you could put it on and wipe it off if you miss a little but the lashes would still be getting darker.

My brows and lashes were the last to go, but yes...I was without as well. They never did come back in as thick and full as pre-chemo, but hey! I did get a moustache in exchange!!As if chemo and The Beast isn't humbling enough, 7 yrs later I am pencilling in brows and waxing my upper-lip. Go figure! LOL

OH my. I worked with a gal who pulled her eyebrows out. She always had eyebrows penciled on. I didn't realize it was a side afect of OCD.
