Definitely NOT Dancing With Ned

Well, yesterday I had my mammogram. I was going to go to work and go straight to the radiologist, but due to lack of sleep and a sick stomach from nerves the night before, I didn't make it to the office. I took my Mom with me (as she was with me last September with my first diagnosis) and found out that my long-term mammo doctor had dropped my insurance. They did the mammo and a sonogram for free, can you believe that? Anyway, (getting wordy here), they did the mammo, then a magnification of the new lump, and while I was waiting for the results the technician came out and asked me if I could wait while they called my primary care physician. She said he wanted to do the sonogram and needed an order from the PCP. So I waited and then had the sonnogram. Dr. B told me that the mammo showed a suspicious area which looked very similar to last year's in the other breast. The sonogram showed something different. It showed a lump with fluid in the center which could be a cyst or hematoma, but he did not like the peripherals or the sack containing the fluid. Lucky me! I have to have another biopsy and will find out on Tuesday when I see the surgeon when it will be. I really don't want to go through this again so soon, but if I have to, I have to. At least the fear of the unknown is not there this time, I know what I will go through. Funny how calm I feel today. Last night I wanted to stand outside and scream at the top of my lungs "Bulls*&^" but kept my cool. I feel like I'm in a fog. Here we go again! Just pray with me that it is not the beast and just a bump in the road.

Love ya all!
Pat

Pat, I am so sorry to hear
Pat, I am so sorry to hear this news, and please know that I will certainly have you in my prayers until you receive the news....good or bad. If you do have to go through this treatment process again, at least you know what to expect, and if the news is good, then you have worried for nothing. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is just a bump in the road. Keep us posted. Lots of hugs,

    Judy

hopefully it will just be a cyst or something benign.
I'm sorry that this happened. Both mammos so far that I've had since dx I've had to have more xrays taken-I hate that because you are left in that waiting room while the radiologist is looking at them, wondering if they saw anything or not!
Sorry that you have to go through another biopsy, keep us posted on what happens on Tuesday when you are up to it...
    My prayers are with you,Pat.

Oh Pat, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this I know how scary (as we all do) it can be. I will be praying for you and sending cyber hugs your way. Should it turn out to be a recureance you can do this too, I know as I had to. It is doable and you we are here for you! Wishing there was more I could do for you!

    Thank You so much
Everyone - I can feel your strength and love and know this will probably turn out to be nothing. If not, then I'll just have to deal with it - right? I can do it with all of you behind me, next to me, and on my shoulder. There is strength in numbers and I love you all!
Thanks - and have a great weekend everyone!

    So sorry, Pat
Of course, I'll be sincerely hoping this is definitely a mere "bump in the road" for you - and nothing more than that.

Try not to worry too much (I know, I know - easier said than done). Wish you didn't have to endure this stress, and more waiting. I'll be hoping Tuesday comes soon enough, when you'll learn of the timing of your next step.

    Best wishes to you.

    Oh damn
I was hoping the mammogram would be totally clear. But still, Pat, the sonogram showed what could be a cyst or hematoma, so please don't despair yet. We are here for you no matter what. But I am still holding out for totally benign.

    Hi Mimi
Me too - my heart and head tell me its benign. I felt scared with the first one, this time I don't so maybe that's a sign.
You have a wonderful weekend and thanks!

    Pat,
    My most positive

    Pat,
My most positive thoughts and prayers are coming to you that this is benign and NED is just trying to be fashionably late. Glad to see you have a good attitude should it be something more. You are strong and will do what you need to do, but again I am wishing and hoping that this is a big nothing.

    Hey Pat....
Of course I am praying for you. I had 7 benign lumpectomies before my eighth one was malignant. Maybe you are doing the opposite! You had your malignant one, so anymore will turn out to be benign! Keep us posted. Pammy

    You're facing my worst nightmare....
Oh, Pat. Please know how very sorry I am for what you are going through, and that I'm amazed and encouraged by your attitude. You are facing my worst nightmare - yet another mammogram which shows something suspcious and the interminable waiting - AGAIN! You are so strong. I'm sure we'll all be watching for your posts. And, I'm thinking positively that you WILL DANCE WITH NED. Hugs, Mariynn
