I'm about 60 miles north of Phila. Nearer to Allentown/Bethlehem.

I am from Maine--still here. Cold in the winter. We definitely have four seasons but our summer season was way too short this year.

Im from cincinnati, ohio. Well about 20 miles north of city.

Tampa Bay Area, in the sunshine state of Florida

In Southern California, San Diego to be exact. It's a beautiful city, very little rain, a lots of sunshine!

I was raised in North Tarrytown,now called Sleepy Hollow, NY. It's about 30 miles North of NYC. It is the Home of Washington Irving and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I now live in Ossining, NY ,a few miles North of Sleepy Hollow and the home of Sing Sing Prison. Right now I'm visiting Orlando Fla. Wish I knew there were a few sisters in this area. I must have scooted over to make room for you!:-) I moved FROM Long Beach in 2001~ I am now in Santa Ynez, about 30 miles north of Sana Barbara, California.

For 18 years I lived on the West Side, in the Wrigley District, on 21st&Chestnut. I moved to the East Side of Long Beach in 1994,at Studebaker and Atherton, within walking distance of CSULB.

I will be in Long Beach in October; there is a Pow Wow at CSULB, and my Reggie has been invited to sing at the festivities.

To join the walk is $20.00
We walk for 2 miles

I have a similar story: born in Istanbul, Turkey and moved to the US when I was 5. My husband was born in Seoul, Korea and came here at age 8. He grew up in Queens, NY and his mom is in Palisades Park, NJ, pretty close to NYC.

How nice to have neighbors close by. You have my number so call me when you come up to visit and I'll meet you. I'll do the same when I get to the DC area. Hugs, LIli

There's also a thread called "where are you from?", started on July 25, 2009 by prv -- if you have your view sorted by most recent post, it's on about page 13ish. That was the last we did this, and you may want to include those folks too, if/when you're feeling up to it.

Idaho is such a big state, I live hours and hours and hours from Pocatello. If you didn't like Pocatello winter, you wouldn't like where I live! You've gotta ski or snowshoe to love Idaho winters. (It may snow in the mountains tonight!)

Just about ready to dig up my potatoes! I planted some purple ones in addition to good old russets. They are blue inside. I grew up in Chicago and wouldn't trade Idaho winters for the Loop's for a million dollars. xoxoxoxo Lynn

3 miles from Santa Ynez California ( where I live) is a Danish-settled town called Solvang. It is quaint, albeit touristy, and looks oddly European amongst the neighboring Indian Reservation and typical California-style homes! One of my friends owned a small bar in Solvang, and had I known he was going to close up and move, I sooo would have bought one of his T-shirts:

"Solvang, a quaint Drinking Town with a slight
Danish Problem!"

I must say, I loved that! LOL LOL

both my son and daughter and all the grand kids live in brady.When I went to visit I really liked Brady, I stood on the stand that says its right in the middle of Texas.Last time I was there in June Or July(a couple of years ago ) it was beautiful and green, but of course brady was getting the worst rain it had gotten in years.Both my kids really love it there, I think it has alot to do with raising them in Yucaipa when it was small ,before it became a city.

only found one currently living in MI, a few who migrated from our unbearably freezing winters, and a couple within a 6-hour drive of where I now call home. Born in Little Rock, moved to Russelville, AK, then to VA, later to IA, back to VA, now living in MI and missing the warm the weather of my southern roots.

I've been wondering where everyone lived and also wondering if anyone lived close to me. I'm a few miles se of St. Louis, MO. in rolling hills, country like, but close enough to get into St. Louis for anything I want to do. We enjoy the Ozarks area, especially Branson. We go there almost every fall. We try to get away to St. Petersburg, Fl every year for part of the winter. Waiting for my dr. to give us the go-ahead. My husband is from Creekside PA, near Indiana Pa, a beautiful part of the country.

I am down the road in Fairfield Suisun area. But will be relocating to Placerville soon.
