Hello Everyone! Almost 2 weeks down! YIPPEE! I am going to just start posting at the end of the week. So, next week will be rads 10 - 14. But, it will be filled with information, fun and maybe some good little tidbits. lol What are tidbits and where did that come from? My Mom always says that. lol

Today was busier than usual. There were some new faces there. We always try to go early because I like to talk to the other patients before I go back. The throat cancer lady was there and we talked a little. Her hubby kept taking her attention away. I am not for sure his protectiveness might go a little too far. Oh well. There was a new lady there with her husband, but, she was unfriendly. I think she was there before once, but, I can't remember. One day we got there late and I didn't have much time for "visiting." lol OMG I think RAD brain has started. :(

I undressed super fast again. lol The 4 techs escorted me into the room. I have the same ones everytime which I love. We are becoming best friends already. ( even the cute male tech hehe ) The one tech did embroider my name on the warm blanket they always put on me. She said now I have to take it when I leave as a reminder. I said ok as long as I have a big party too! lol They assured me that they would have one for me. I had them put on my panflute music today. It is so relaxing. Hubby watched with them outside to see me getting zapped. I think he is a sadist...watching me getting zapped. Don't you? lol So, the zapper moved 4 times, gave me my daily dose of radiation, they came in, turned the lights on and VOILA..I was done. We went out for a good burger and fries at a really cute vintage restauant. It has old wooden booths that are really tall and soda fountain drinks and stuff. We like it. Well, that is it. I hope you all have a great weekend! I will cause I am zap free for 2 days!

Sue :)

AW Sue, you do whatever you
AW Sue, you do whatever you think is best. As you can see, lots are reading your posts. I enjoy them too.

They gave me a blanket too as that room was always freezing. They said they have to keep it like that for the machine. But, noone embroidered mine :( They just wrote my name on it with one of their markers and a happy face.

Glad to see your husband is treating you. It makes it that much more easier and enjoyable. You have a good weekend too Sue!

    I know, but, they might
I know, but, they might start to get boring with the same zapping everyday. So, if I go do a weekly report, I can write more.

Someone on here mentioned tattoos too. I don't know if I ever talked about them or not. But, don't worry about them. It isn't like a tattoo parlor. lol The rad tech just has a very small needle with the blue ink in it and he just barely pricks you for one second. I hardly felt it when he did it. Ok, enough of being INKED! lol

Thanks Lex for your reply! I love your tinkerbell!

    Doing good! ☻
Garfield, um, I mean Sue..lol You are doing really well with your rads. You will be getting close to seeing some skin changes in about another week or so. So, keep those creams on! And, be gentle with your skin. I just used Dove soap and I did fine with it.

I had one of those unfriendly ladies when I took rads too. She never would smile or talk to anyone. Even the receptionist would get upset about it. She must have been really unhappy, sad or something.

Congrats on #9! Soon you will have 2 weeks in!

    Great job, Sue!
    Hi Sue,

I completed 33 radiation treatments in early August. Sounds like you are determined to make the best of it and that's great. I recommend getting extra rest and keeping the area well lubed even when it doesn't appear that the area is irritated. I used a CVS brand of aloe after tan and a creme I bought online called "MY GIRLS". I love the name. It's by a company called, "Lots to Live For". My techs recommended a bra called "Barely There" which I found at Kohls. I had a partial mastectomy so my right breast looks fine but is slightly smaller and more uplifted than my left breast. I call them perkie and floppy (ha, ha!). I never had what they call, "breakdown" but I was tender along my bra line so the soft bra was great. I don't know what kind of surgery you had but if you still have one or both of your breasts a soft bra is very important.

Continued good luck with your treatments. Your positive attitude will make a big difference.
