Thought I'd post now that I have found out what caused the feverish lumps, bumps, swelling and so on at the 4 tracer injection sites in my right breast.
I am allergic to Sulfa, and there is sulfa in the compound they use, called Sulfur, somehow it was missed, I did have it listed on my drug allergies list, but I fell thru the cracks.
I am slowly healing, 70% better now, and hopefully it will be a bad memory before long.
I just wanted everyone allergic to Sulfa to be sure to ask before you have the node tracer injected.

THAT'S what the reaction did to you?
I'm so sorry for the reaction you had, and for the fact that it could have been prevented. You're very thoughtful to alert everyone who has a sulfa allergy -- who would have ever known?

But...SG, I'm sorry, but I can't stop giggling over the juxtaposition of "I had a reaction" to that PICTURE of yours! My God, is THAT what a sulfa reaction does? I mean, I'm jealous that you have all that hair, 'cause I don't, but geez, what did you look like BEFORE you went to the hospital?

    It's an emu
I started laughing when I first saw this picture. It is so funny.

I'm sorry for your recation to the tracer dye. That was not a fun process for me when I got my dye injections, but I knew it was necessary. I hope you feel better soon.

I am glad to know what this little fellow is, Emu, eh, he's been around me for so long it's time I knew. He always makes me smile and puts me in a good mood.

I am on the mend from the dye, it's about 70% better, and I can walk without having to supporting my breast.

    Sandy, I have been so
Sandy, I have been so worried about you! Glad to hear you are on the mend! I still have blue dye leaking out of my breast...now I'm wondering if I should say something! My 1st chemo went as well as could be expected, but the following day when I injected the immuno therapy drug Neupogen, I had a SEVERE allergic reaction and ended up taking an ambulance ride to the hospital. I'll tell you all about it when I see you online.

I'm going to guess that's a fledgling ostrich!

    By Golly!
It IS an EMU! I googled emu, and there he was along with a kabillion other pics. Oooh, emu eggs are blue - how cool is THAT?
