My wife pass away 01/29/08 from colon cancer. We fought it since 05/02. Liver resections, lungs mets and than brain tumors. When I read your posts it brings back the memories. I pray everyday for a cure. As a caregiver to your spouse you really find out how much love means. We were married 34 years. I met a wonderful person at my church. I have remarried. She has been a "God Sent" to me. My wife taught me how to live and than how to dy. I miss her everyday and will always love her. I wish all of the best and a CURE.

God Bless

Mike

    Hi Mike!
Thank you for your story! I can only imagine how hard it is to lose a loved one. Especially after seeing them suffer like that. I'm so glad you were able to pick up the pieces, and find love again. I don't know how long it's been since you last posted, but there are still people here posting from back in 2004 and on. My memory doesn't extend much beyond yesterday, but please accept my condolensces. Hope you will continue to post and lend your strength to others going through the same thing.

    Hugs,
    Krista

Hi Mike, thank you for that
Hi Mike, thank you for that warm and important message. Sometimes this disease tends to consume us, and we can forget that whether we are caregivers, or survivors, or still fighting the beast, it's important to remember to get on with our lives and to learn the many important lessons that having cancer can teach us. I think that many would agree that although cancer really tests our mettle we come out of the tunnel better persons for it. I think that although you obviously loved and will always love the woman you spent so much of your life with, you've had the strength and ability to find someone else to share your life with and experience continued joy. I wish you much happiness in life with your new bride.

    Sorry
Mike, I've been married for over 33 years now, so I can only imagine what a loss it was when your wife lost her battle with cancer. I'm so sorry.

Please stop by again and let us know how you're doing. I'm very happy you've found new love.

    *hugs*
