Hey,guys.

Thanks for all the good comments. Unfortunately, I didn't get to read them until today, because I ended up being in the hospital from Friday until today. Right after I posted the message about being in such pain, I called my doctor's office back, and they said to come in right away, and then my doctor sent me right to the hospital. They suspected a blockage or possibly more cancer, but horrible, horrible testing proved me to be okay on that point. I suspect I may have cleared up part of the blockage myself before I went in the hospital with the magnesium citrate.

Anyway, to answer some of the comments: I have been walking for awhile now, I drink lots of fluids, and I take Miralax every day. My doctor feels like my IBS has just gone off the charts since the colon resection. He said that some patients simply have a really hard time regaining colon function after bowel surgery. I think I'm in that category! I did have a very clean colonoscopy a year ago in May, and I've had various scans and MRI's and x-rays, so I feel confident in his belief that I'm cancer free.

Thanks for the help!

*hugs*
Gail

P.S. My hiney's still SORE!

    Hi Honey!
Honey and Darlin' - that's Texas speak :)

I'm so glad you are doing better - so hard when people are going through such pain and you just have to stand there.

You're Cancer free alright - no trips to France for you :)

I've had a hard time since the resection and it's been years - I'm having a bad week this week too, but things will come around, some weeks are just off.

So glad to hear from you. We'll be in touch.

BTW - I'm damaged good as well :) I can relate...

    Hey Gail!
That's great news of being NED! I hate to hear the pain you were in, and how it may not be the same, but you never know, maybe over time things will get better, I hope the same for you too Craig, I'm scared of getting any kind of resection, you guys are brave..

    Hope you all get better!

    Hugsss!

    glad you're home
    Hi Gail,

What a rough time you've had! I'm sorry to hear about what you've been through, but very glad to hear that after all the lousy tests you had to go through that they believe you're cancer free!
The hiney will become less sore with time, of course.

You take care and rest up!

    Hugs,
    Lisa

    Laughing at Donna!
Donna, when your colon burst and they took out the cancer... you HAD a resection.

Gail, that's good news but am sorry for all your pain and sore bum. Hey, if you want to see Paris, there's always loads of CHEAP but short trips available. I'm talking really cheap! I get these alerts from my travel website when there's too many rooms open in hotels and planes are not filled. They might be a 3 night stay but at super low prices. Next time I see one, I'll PM you, if you'd like.

    Good News
glad you got to the "bottom" of the problem; pain sounded
really bad.....how about remodeled, redesigned and renewed
goods instead......the best "bottom" line is that it is
    NOT CA.....Hooray!

    Ca va?

    Bonjour Gail:

    Ca va?

I'm delighted to read that you are feeling better and that your tests were negative for cancer.

My husband has had a series of similar incidents. He gets an awful stomachache, a buildup of mucus and vomiting. We went to the ER the first couple of times. The consensus was that he has scar tissue that occasionally gets twisted and causes a blockage. His oncologist seems to feel that this is not unusual for someone who has had several abdominal surgeries. His CT scans are clear. Coincidentally, he had another flare up of this problem yesterday after months without any problem.

I wonder how many others on this board experience this problem.

Continued best wishes for your good health.

Hi Gail! I was unable to open your other post (this happens a lot to me), so i didn't know what was going on. I'm soooo happy you don't have a recurrence, and that you were able to pass your blockage. You poor dear! I think we all know what an incredible nightmare it is to be blocked!

Maybe now you'll have some peace, and be able to get back into the fray with the grandbabies!

    Hugs,
    Krista

    And you?
And I think I probably missed a lot of posts while I was on "vacation." What's the word with you, Krista? I've been worried about you!

    I'm doing good
Hi Gail! I think i'm doing better. The stricture is beginning to close again and give me trouble, so i'm guessing the plumber will not be able to get through again when he attempts it. I'm still very frustrated, but i have a game plan now that doesn't necessarily include my docs, and i'm confident about it. My anesthesiologist suggested i get a lung CT biopsy of the nodule, so on September 15th, when i see my onc, i'm going to demand it. Why let things fester?? I'm also going to demand a clean out, and proper colonoscopy to see what's going on in there if the plumber refuses to do it again. I hate feeling like i have to tell the doctors how to do their jobs, but i really feel like they're consistantly failing me. It's my job to MAKE them do their jobs!! LOL!

Thanks so much for asking about me! I'm glad you're back and posting!

    Hugs,
    Krista
