no H Pylori

I saw my oncologist this morning, I had my CA125 drawn and he said he expects it to be up again but we won't restart chemo. at this time. I'll have a CT scan in Oct. and if it shows disease, then we'll restart chemo. He wants my body to continue healing and getting stronger from the 10 months of Topotecan, so that it will be ready for the next chemo treatment.

He also said he didn't believe that I have H Pylori, acid reflux disease or gastritis. He feels that my attack last Monday was either a gallstone or kidney stone passing. Or it could have been one of my hernias getting into a bad place and thankfully slipping back into place.

In the afternoon I called my Internist and got the report, I'm negative for H Pylori and he apparently did 2 blood tests for my pancreas, also normal. So good news all around, except that we still don't know what caused the attack.

Next time, I'll be sure to get immediate treatment so that blood work and an ultrasound can be done when I'm in the attack. As my oncologist said, "in so much pain I was expecting to meet my maker", how true!

    CT's
That is what they did to my rising CA125, had to be confirmed with the CT and physical before chemo scheduled. I would think that the CT would show a kidney or gall stone unless it has dissolved on its own.
A sonogram showed my gallstone.... Saundra

    Hi Saundra,
I agree, and the July CT was clear with no mention of stones anywhere.
I got my CA125 back today, last month it was 50 and this month it's 58.9, and that's not bad.

Did you have the sonogram when you were having the attack, or after. I wonder if they could do it now, to see if there's any others lurking around?

    Sonogram
I was having a pinching pain under my right rib area. The sonogram showed one large stone. I never had an "attack" as I chose to have it out on my time rather than waiting for an attack. This was in 2005.
