My wife Linda got a little jolt a month back when her numbers rose ever so slightly from 5-8 CA-125 to 21. The last (current) blood test was 25, which her G/O assured her was still normal. So, like many of you, we are floating...On a small sea of general relief but also anticipation. Because we all know this disease and its effects and treatments can come in waves. That's how it feels, anyway. You relax and take a deep breath and tread water month after month. Sometimes the wave of fear and problems comes and sometimes it doesn't.

So, we're floating. Grateful for the sunny days and currently calm waters. Floating on the Sea of NED for now.

p.s. Anyone had abdominal surgery for a hernia? She's got a spot near her navel that trouble her...

    Dear Linda: I love your reference of "floating". I call it "hills and valleys". I was diagnosed 10 years ago. I was cancer free for 7 1/2 years. The last 2 1/2 my cancer has recurred 3 times. I am currently doing chemo. I know exactly how you feel when the slightest elevation happens. It is such a scary feeling and all you can do is wait. I hope your CA125 remains stable and best of luck to you.

    Slow rise
    My CA 125 was on a slow rise over the past year also. I really did enjoy the chemo break. Now I am even more grateful after going thru last Friday's chemo. I'm glad I was able to live a normal life for 10 months.
