If I were you I would call your oncologist office today and if you are feeling better on Friday and you don't have a fever they may still do your chemo or they may put if off for another week. They may want to draw some blood.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs to you,
Margo

I don't know about chemo with a cold ... but I came down with pneumonia during my chemo treatments and I was still able to have chemo. I'm sure if you call the oncologist's office and tell them how you are feeling ... they will tell you whether you will be able to have your chemo. My guess is you'll just have to play it day-by-day to see how you are doing the day of your scheduled appointment.

Good luck and take care ...

hugs.

Call your oncologist and let him know. They will decide if you should have chemo or not then.

Everyone has given you the best advice~ call your Dr! Because chemo depeletes our white cell count, making it near impossible to fight off infections, chances are, depending on the severity of your cold, that he may decide to postpone it for a week. But it may not be the case! Let us know what happens! And, get well soon...colds are no fun at the best of times!

Hugs,
Claudia

Your oncologist will let you know if he doesn't think you can have the chemo. But, he might let you go ahead if it is just the start of a cold.

Ask your oncologist, and, let us know. I really have no idea, but, I would think they would continue the chemo.

Check with your onc, but I developed a virus after my second round of chemo, and still continued. The onc kept a close watch on my bloodwork.

Sadly, because of the chemo, my virus lasted over two months and I completely lost my voice for seven weeks...no fun.

But at least I finished chemo on time.

But call & ask what your onc thinks.

Hugs,

CR

I did call my onc. I have bronchi-influenzia (spelling?)
Chemo went ahead on Friday. My frist round. Oy! I was so scared! I'm doing the CAF treatment which ment 7 drips one after another. Strange, I thought they going to mix up the whole concuction in one drip.
I got so sick last night. Today I'm feeling like... how to explain. It feels asif every cell in my body is irretated with me and wants to leave. Being full of snot and coughing the whole time on top of all of this is just not right!
This is hectic people! I mean we live in the 21st Century! When are they going to find a way to cure this without making us feel like yesterdays pizza.
TIP: When going for all these operations, chemo treatments and other cancer related hospital visits, do NOT watch ER, House, Grays Anatomie - it's just not funny.

I'm glad you were still able to have your chemo treatment.
Being full of snot probably doesn't help your stomach either.

Hope you feel better soon.

Margo

Oh.. I so sorry that you are feeling so miserable... Hang in there... I hate colds.. I hate this cancer and every type of treatment that goes with it... I hate all of it... but you are doing so good... hang in there.. no one should have to feel like yesterdays pizza... and I agree one would think with all of the advances in the 21st century that one could come up with a cure for the cold...
