Update from RAD B's Business Manager
The dang hyperthermia machine here at Barnes-Jewish went on the fritz last week, causing my Moopy to miss three hyperthermia sessions to date. The long-awaited broken part arrived on Friday afternoon... and then, it didn't phreeqing work.
But the amazing Dr. Marie Taylor informed us at our meeting this afternoon that the machine is up and running and Moopy will get hyperthermia both Thursday and Friday. Yay! It does mean that Moopy will need to get one more treatment on Monday: one more session for my brave Kitten to tough out. Still, we're just thrilled that she will be getting the full treatment she came up here for.
And now for the truly amazing news: Dr. Taylor has signed on as the RAD B's Group Physician! She didn't just laugh at the story of how her passing comment has become a running joke which continues to bring needed laughter into BC survivors' lives. She even giggled, she was so delighted. Her band name will be "Dr. T" and instead of Mr. T's traditional bling bling she will keep her shiny stethoscope around her neck on stage.
Of all the bright ideas our 12/25 has ever come up with, I hereby declare this the brightest. Welcome to the newest of the RAD B'S!

I will cover her stethoscope in wonderful faux jewels and make her the most wonderful set of faux scrubs. Faux Zebra skin I think will be just the ticket. Oh and those little shoe covers will be faux leopard. And I think our speakers should be designed to look like rad machines. Blasting music instead of radiation. And Dr T can have a head band that looks like those things that doctor's used to wear on their head (like a magnifier) and it will be faux jewels also. I love the styling. I am open to suggestion for all your costuming.
All kidding aside, glad that Moopy is going to get all her treatments and that the machine is healed.

I knew I missed something
I knew I missed something important! I know I have had computer problems, and was traveling, missed some posts, and this that and the other, but I need to know: WHAT passing comment that d Dr Taylor made became a running joke?? Somehow I missed all of that!
Whatever the reason, welcome to Dr T~ and perhaps Nawty's husband can get a line on a diamond encrusted stethoscope!
But the big news, Moopy getting the full treatment, now that is worth celebrating!!! AWRIGHT!!!

I forgot exactly where the original post was, but three weeks ago, Dr. Taylor made the offhand comment that Moopy's hair (which is coming in spiky and black) made her look like a punk rocker. Moopy has to be the least punky person on earth, and Dr. Taylor isn't exactly a Siouxie Sioux type herself. Hence, the origin of Moopy Mohawk!0 -

I hope her treatments go well. Im not sure what that is however, but it sounds scary. Now i too understand about the punk rocker thing. I was always wondering when i read the posts. Tell moopy she is in my prayers, and you are a wonderful supporter. She is so lucky to have you and so are we here.

I'm so glad Moopy is almost finished. She is a real trooper and my hero. And ... Joe ... you are a one in a million. You two are so lucky to have each other ... it makes me smile to even think of what a great couple you are.
Now ... as far as the RAD B's having a Group Physician ... I think that's great... but I wonder how Dr. T. is with treating "non-humans" ... such as cats, dogs, monkeys and most importantly ... flamingoes. We have many different critters who will need attention too. Oh ... and I was just wondering if someone might be able to come up with a Dr. PHIL"lass" ... to try and keep us psychologically "healthy." From reading some of these posts ... it's obvious some of us (like me) are slightly flakey ... what with chemo brain and all. And I'm sure with all of the sudden fame we'll be having as the RAD B's ... we will for sure need help handling all of the attention we'll be getting from the media etc. Just a thought.

You are so right, Teena. We need a Doctor of Daft Sods for the slightly or more than slightly flakos among us (including myself). After all a band of our caliber needs everything, just everything, doctors, nurses, vets, shrinks, costumers, set designers, producers and on and on. ANd of course, groupies, or guppies if we must. And musicians and dancers and management and well, I think that we need everyone on this board totally committed. And that can be taken many ways.

I seem to be hearing that we need 1) a vet, and 2) a shrink. I could probably round up a vet/ The senior of our pups' two veterinarians, Dr. Tedd, is a true nutbar (or, as Moopy might put it, my kindred soul). As for the shrink, I'm not sure a shrink would be enough. Maybe an exorcist would be more appropriate for the Daft Sods among us?0 -

Well, it's ABOUT TIME you showed up!
I was really beginning to wonder, Mr. Aortus, about your commitment as Business Manager of The Rad Bs! Was afraid you'd simply gone AWOL on us, leaving me - already inundated with numerous and extremely stressful responsibilities - to cover your end!
OK, sorry, I feel better now. You're excused, of course. Because you HAVE been working, even if only "behind the scenes"... Your most important reason for your recent and temporary "leave of absence" has been taking extraordinary care of our Band Leader/Frontwoman and Lead Singer #1-A - our beloved Moopy Mohawk. After all - without her, our Star, The Rad Bs are nothing.
EXCELLENT work on recruiting Dr. Taylor (Dr. T)! Woo hoo! I had previously signed her on as Honorary Founder. Group Physician is even better! Yeah, GREAT to have her on board! I'll begin work on her Employee File immediately.
OK, enough of the fun stuff...

AWESOME news! Total bummer about the frickin' machine; but, in the end, completion of treatment after all. DOUBLE WOO HOO!!! This is the most important news of all, by far, within your post. Wow, just 3 more days!! Glad your machine is fixed and up and running. Funny thing....the one they have here actually had a "glitch" going on today that my Rad Onc had to fix. Must all wear down about the same time. I just heard him say "hypo machine is running now, I adjusted it".
Hey, I'm not normal, so I can pretend to be a shrink. Just like in "One Flew Over The Cookoos Nest"!! You can have a choice of a "Blue" pill or a "Red" pill just like "Alice In Wonderland" or we can just meet "On The Dark Side Of The Moon"!!!
