Hi all
3rd treatment of a/c was Friday and today is my down day. Every bite, every popsicle, every spoon of jello is a struggle. I am managing to get some food down and some fluids and I have napped some but the day is sooooooooooooo long.

Just needed to vent. 1 more of these and its on to taxol/herceptin. I sure hope its easier

Thanks for listening

Hi Linda, I am so sorry you
Hi Linda, I am so sorry you are not felling well. I can relate because I had a very difficult time with AC treatments. I hated them so much that four may as well have been 40! I will tell you that taxol is way easier. I had some fatigue and moderate bone pain but it never made me feel sick and miserable like the AC did. Hang in there, things will be better:0)

Yes, that old Red Devil is known to wreak havoc with our systems, that's for sure! It makes us feel this way because it is doing a kick-**** job of killing all the cancer which is even more dangerous than the treatment is!!! Sadly, although just a tiny portion of our body had cancer, no one told this to the AC, so it is running rampant! I am glad you are doing your best with the popsicles, jello, etc...I know you realize how important hydration and flushing out your system is. We absolutely promise you~ it will and does pass, and the taxol is not nearly as tough to handle.

You are almost halfway, and the taxol se's are different. You will be feeling better soon. xoxo Lynn

    Hang In There
    Hi Linda,
I am so sorry you are feeling this way - sounds like we have the same cocktails. 4 weeks into Taxol/Herceptin, I assure you - the worst will be behind you soon.

Fluids are excellent for you and sleep is your friend. There is absolutely nothing wrong with "sleeping through cancer" :-)

    Sending Strength & Hugs,
    KC

That is good news that you only have one of those left. The other will be lots easier. It will get better each day as Jojo said. I had alot of milkshakes while in chemo. They tasted good andfelt good going down my sore throat. Hang on Hun, and my best to you.

I know how you feel. I just finished my #4 treatment of AC. Next is the Taxol/ Herceptin also. Know that the worst will be behind you soon. Drink alot of water and get alot of rest. I haven't done much of anything for the last week and a half since my treatment. Lots of hugs, Diane :)

    struggling today
Look ahead your almost done with the first half. I can remember it exactly sounds almost the same for you. Oh the popcicles!! You'll get thru it. I just started my next phase of taxotere and it is not nearly as bad, hardly no side effects. I am only hoping with the low doses weekly I won't loose my hair. Good Luck Kathy

    Hang in there, Linda
I admire your courage to forge ahead, Linda. Cancer so sucks, but I think having to go through Chemo sucks too. Not sure I would have made it through as so many of you have. I am a bit of a weenie. My husband always butts in when I inform Dr's what high tolerance I have to pain, etc. He shakes his head and tells them that he lets me believe this so I do not feel like I wimped out too soon. He knows they need the truth so I get the proper treatment. Bless his heart. In reality, I am a weenie. Hang in there and I hope it gets easier for you soon. (:-) Pammy

    worst is behind you
Linda ... as others have said ... the worst is behind you. I didn't have to have the A/C part ... but I from what I understand from others on the board ... it can be tough. I "just" had 12 weekly treatments of taxol/herceptin ... and other than a few very minor side-effects ... it was a "breeze." Not one bit of nausea! YIPPEE!

    You'll do fine :-)

    hugs.

    Easier
The Taxol/Herceptin is a breeze compared to A/C. It has its own New Normal, but nothing like the A/C. Hang in there.
