Hey Moopy! We haven't had an update from you lately. So, post and let

us know how you are doing when you have some time. We read where you had some company, so,

we know you have been busy. But, we miss you and want to know how your rads are going.

Hopefully everything is good!

Love, Jeanne

you! haha Ok, kidding. He does a very good job of keeping us updated! There, happy now

Joe? :) What number are you on now? And, how is your skin holding up?

    Our dear MOOPINATOR!
Just chimin' in with the others, to let you know we're thinking of you... Although I bet you're very tired from having family in over the weekend, and all the activities that went along with their visit - including, importantly, Joe's birthday. :-)

If I've not completely lost track - I believe today is #11? You're beginning your 3rd full week?

We'll be looking forward to your post, whenever you feel up to it.

    Kind regards, Susan

    Hi Moopy
I know you've been busy, but it looks like you've been missed also!! I also miss you! although Joe is a sweetie for keeping us up on all.

Not to many more left, I hope all is going well with the rads and hoping NO BURNING!! before you know it you will be back home again. That is kind of weird for me..not really knowing what next? even though i am still having the Herceptin treatment every 3 weeks and will be going for followups, it seems after the whirlwind that we have been through...i'm not used to the calm.

My best to you and Joe, and i hope you had a great time with all your family visits.

    Love, jackie

Moopster is fine - just real tired.
Moopeeptia wants to get online and hopes to do so tonight. We've had a great weekend and so (I believe) did Moopy's dad and stepmother. But the combination of rads and visitors has made Mopy a little more tired than usual. Still, all is well and Mopsy will be in touch soon.

Thank you - we couldn't do without y'all!

    Can it truly be?????
    Joe...

Do you remember when you first started posting? I vividly recall you mentioning you and your Moopy, who we had not had the pleasure of meeting yet, had a specific number of States you either had ( or was that had NOT?) visited with one of the express purposes of the visit to "make whoopie?" (Aren't I diplomatic?) Can you two actually believe how much time has passed and that not just your Moopy, but OUR Moopy is at the conclusion of her treatment?! I realize she is very tired from radiation, but soon, hopefully, you will both be tired from something else~
Sorry if this seems out of line, Joe, but You Started It!Months ago!!!

    Claudia

Thank you all for your messages and for thinking of me. Joe has been checking the board and letting me know how you all are doing. Because I don't forget about you, even if I exhaust myself sometimes. Kat, how is chemo coming along? And Judy, I do hope your arm symptoms are something else, not lymphedema. You have had enough to deal with. And Claudia, has the itching gone away? I saw your thread about the Relay and will be reading it. I hope that means you are getting over the dermititis.

Susan, Christmas Girl, you are right: I just had my 11th treatment today. Radiation, I have learned, is not so easy. (You warned me about that, I remember Jeanne.) So far, none of the itching that Kristin had (or was that Noel?).

Maybe because of lymph node involvement, my arm is placed in an incredibly awkward, painful position. The doc offered me muscle relaxers, but they make me feel like Gumby. Tried pain meds left over from mastectomy and migraine meds. At this point, I'm ready to ask for the muscle relaxers. Did anyone else have this? My arm is sore and stiff. I worry that I'll get lymphedema just from the radiation treatments.

Not to mention the fatigue. My dad and stepmom visited over the weekend. I overdid, as you all can guess. Hard to get used to a new "normal." When will my stamina increase?! I had cereal for supper tonight, and poor Joe still hasn't eaten.

Aloe is working best for me so far. The Vaniqua just smears and doesn't blend well. My doc crossed out Auquaphor as an option; I am going to ask about it on Wednesday.

Anyway, I hope this is not way more than you all wanted to know. Hopefully, the info is of some use to those of you getting ready for rads. By the way, I do recommend bringing your own CDs.

I have been treated to Anne Murray, Karen Carpenter, and was offered Barry Manilow. When a tech suggested classical musical, I thought great! What I got was a collection of popular tunes: wedding and graduation marches, Beethoven's Fifth, and the Lone Ranger theme. Which, as it happens, is from the William Tell Overture. Who knew? I left my CDs at home, so if I ever get retail therapy energy again, I will be buying something. Oh, I did hear some Tim McGraw; unfortunately, the songs included "Live Like You Are Dying," which is good advice but not particularly uplifting when you are lying immobile in an underground radiation facility getting zapped.

Again, I do thank God for each and every one of you. I don't know why you are so good to me, but I am grateful. I will be catching up on my reading and what I have missed. Thank you for "listening" to my venting.

Love, Moopy who is feeling more Moop-inATED than MoopinaTOR.

Hey Moopy, I did rad #14
Hey Moopy, I did rad #14 today and I have to put my hands up over my head in these holders for them. It is uncomfortable for my right arm(rad side) more than the left. I feel like my arm is falling asleep. It is only for a couple minutes so I just try to think of something funny. They play good music sometimes, but I feel like lots of Michael Jackson lately! I was told to eat tons of protein to help heal and feel good and I use Calendula Cream and Aquaphor. Hope it goes by fast for you. How many treatments do you have to do total?

    Cute dog!

    Moopy.....
I found the fatigue from rads to be cumulative. The more I had, the more tired I got. By the time I finished, I was more tired than I was when doing chemo.

My arm bothered me too, and my rads were only a few minutes long. My shoulder was almost immovable and they had to help me get my arm out of that position when I finished each time.

Hang in there sweetie! You are getting closer to the finish line every day.

    Hugs,

Thank you both. I wasn't expecting the arm pain and feel relieved it is not unusual. I have about 3 more weeks to go.

I will try to eat more protein and check out Calenda lotion, Kim. Thanks. T pretzel dog, Susan, I think called him, is Nubi, also known as "Joe's Dog" or "Nuisance." Good thing for him he is so cute!

Cindy, I hope your husband is doing well. I remember what a joy it was to have him come home the 4th of July weekend. Hugs to sweet Kenny.

    Hang on Moopy, hang on
There was song popular when I was in high school (eons ago) called "Hang on Sloopy." It came to mind when I read your name. Glad you're back posting.

I am so sorry to hear that you have the double whammy of a hurt arm and the tireds. I ended up exhausted by the end of rads. I was ASSIDUOUS about moisturizing my skin and I never was badly burned, although my skin began to itch near the end. A nurse at the center where I received treatment gave me a lotion (with cortisone, I think) for that called Regenecare HA. At the beginning of radiation the nurse gave me a similar lotion (without itch medicine), but I, for the life of me, can't recall its name.

Take good care and rest, rest, rest. Hugs to you and Joe. Lynn

Moopy... so glad to hear from you and to see that you, though in pain, and uncomfortable are doing well.

Please get your rest... I know Joe is taking good care of you... Maybe this weekend you two can have a slow quite few days with room for little Cat naps in between...

Make a wish... and know your being thought of with love and friendship!
