Its about 3am here in AZ, slept pretty much all day so I am now up and about. Had a rough day today. Only a few days until my PET scan and I was feeling sorry for myself, wondering what in the heck I am going to do it the scan lites up something. I don't get to see my ONC until the 30th so I have to wait for 8 days, I don't know if I can handle that. I have read where allot of y'all just go and get your results but Wendy was saying would I be able to read them, what if I had questions, so she is thinking its best to wait to see the ONC that way he could answer any questions that I might have, after he picks me up from the floor if something has come back. I hate to sound so negative, I am just really scared. I so badly want this over just as we all do.

Plus I have to say goodbye to a very good friend tomorrow, she is leaving for Texas for a Job, I am happy for her, she deserves this job and its a promotion for her as well. She has worked so very hard for this. She used to work for me as my assistant, then she got promoted to being the supervisor of all the assistants, and now she says I cant tell her what to do anymore...LOL....Thats what she thinks, I will continue to bug her every chance I get, we are always pulling pranks on each other. That wont stop no matter the distance between us. Its a shame this office here wasn't better because it is losing all its great people to other offices... well here I am rambling again... sorry....

My daughter is really stressing about becoming a mom, and when she stresses I stress. I try to make her feel better and that she will be just fine and that she will always have me and Wendy to help her out. I know all new moms go through this, just wish she was a little closer so I could see her more. anyway rambling again.

Please pray that my scan will be clear and that all this will be over for me real soon. I want my life back as soon as possible. I really appreciate everyone here on this board, you all are just great and wonderful people, I wouldnt have made it without you all. God bless each and everyone of you and my prayers will always continue for you all and for a cure.

*HUGS*

It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life now. I hope that all goes well with your scan and that your loved ones have safe passage to their destinations. Try to focus on what you will do when your scan comes back looking a-okay.

You know that we have your back...and all the prayers are coming your way. I am thinking extra hard about you today.

Today is my last day of chemo, and the anxiety is setting is as well. What IF??? Don't you hate that? I am fortunate that my doctor reads my scans the same day and calls me...can you call your doc and ask as well? 8 days seems sooo long to wait.

Many, many hugs and thoughts. We love you....Vicki

We all go through the anxiety of waiting on the results for scans and bloodworks. I am almost 3 years NED and I still get anxious about getting the results and actually flipped out once when the Drs office called me to tell me the results because I usually just tell them to mail them to me.

Take a deep breath and enjoy TODAY. Smell the roses, run the grass through your toes, have a glass of wine or a bottle of beer, call your daughter and just be a mom.

I have learned to take one-day-at-a-time and to enjoy what life has to offer each day and for once, I am really learning to enjoy the little and simple things again.

    Been there too
I hate the wait-even though it is only a week. Know that I am sending positive vibes out to you and that all is well.

    Thinking of You
I am anxious about any test, including blood tests. It would be nice if you could get your results earlier than 8 days away. I don't think it's fair to the patient that the doctor makes them wait that long when they have the results earlier than that. Maybe doctors should schedule office visits for the next day after a test but I know that isn't always possibles. Sending good thoughts your way for a superb test result.

    Scan report
    Hi Beth.

You can request the REPORT for your scans, that is what I do, not the actual scans. The reports are pretty understandable and you can look up words you don't understand on the internet dictionary. It is hell waiting for days or a week or more after your scans to see the doctor, so I started asking for copies of the reports, they are usually available here the next day. If there is scary news on the report, at least you know, and if the news is good, your anxiety level drops instantly, so for me it is worth getting those reports right away. Hope yours has the best possible news!

    I am going to try
and do just that, the 8 days will probably put me over the edge if I have to wait that long. Thanks for having my back I sure do need it, and prayers for you too.

    I have to do something
I cant wait those 8 days, I will try and get that and find a way to read it. From my experience with my ONC if the needs is not good they wont give me the results, but if I am standing there maybe he will take a few minutes to see me. Cant hurt to try, but I am hoping and praying the results are good.

    Thank you

    Hey, Beth
    Hey, Beth.

I can so understand your anxiety. Waiting is just the pits! First of all, I hope and pray that your results will be absolutely beautiful! And I also hope that you'll be able to get the report sooner and put your mind at ease.

You sound like me, as far as your daughter is concerned. I feel like I can't breathe when something is concerning about one of my children. I'm not okay unless they're okay.

Let us know as soon as you can about your results.

    *hugs*

    The Wait
    Beth,

That dreaded waiting period is the worse, I know I had to wait a week and a half to get my PET scan results in. I don't know how I did it without driving myself nuts, somehow I forgot about it or put it to the back of my mind. I guess it helped that I had my colonoscopy still to go through, along with a vacation to see some family. Looking back on it I now realize it never entered my mind that I had to wait so long, normally I would be like you going out of my mind.

I am praying your PET is clear and that you endure the wait. I also am praying for your loved ones. You wouldn't be a good mom if you didn't worry about all your daughter's worries. And you wouldn't be a good friend if you didn't recognize the fact that while this is a good move for your friend it will be a difficult one at the same time.

    Hang in there!
