Regarding my mother-in-law. June 08 found Ovarian Cancer, surgery, chemo until November. Pronounced Cancer free in December 08. Jan 09 tests show 2 new tumors in pelvic region, Mar 09 tests show spots/nodules/lesions on lung, kidney, liver. April 09 Gallbladder surgery couldnt wait because she was so sick....during that surgery it was found that cancer was "everywhere" surgeons words. On lungs, intestines, stomach lining, kidney, liver, pelvic area, bladder.......anyways, I was wondering if anyone on here has ever had this much cancer and fought it. She is wanting to fight, even though it is very aggressive and doctor said he cant tell her how long he can help prolong her life....2 months- 2 years.
She is in the hospital right now because she stopped eating and started vomiting brown stuff. Now they have a tube down in her stomach to take the stuff out, but it just keeps coming out x 2 days now, plus they took 2 litres of fluid out of liver region. Does it sound like she has much longer? Is this something that happens at the end?? Whats to stop the brown stuff? the doc says there is no blockage but keeps saying "you know the cancer is all over the intestines". He says she will be in hospital for a few more days.

I don't have any answers to your questions. I totally understand your concerns though. I too have a MIL that has ovarian cancer. I love her like a mother.
I hope you find your answers. God bless you, you MIL and your family. Take care and please keep us posted.

There is ALWAYS HOPE. I have mine in lymphnodes and spleen - ovarian cancer. And omentum has a lot of small ones. Also a couple in my neck. As far as your mother in law it depends on how well the treatment effects her. All of us respond different but it may shrink or get rid of - is it possible? yes. I am not a Dr but I am glad her Dr didnt give her a time. The Drs shouldnt. They don't know how her body will respond but oncologist are good at choosing the chemo or treatment. Have faith and courage. Only God knows how long we have. I saw a woman lung cancer patient stage 4 almost give up then they tried a chemo on her she hadn't had and guess what she is in remission. So many things happen. I have been fighting 7 years and do pretty well other then weakness. I have seen people pass on including my husband, I have seen survivors as myself still battling and I have seen MANY cured. If she has been going thru this a year and willing to fight God Bless her. I hope and pray they find something for her. My prayers are with her and the family.
    Prayers and Hugs
