Taking a Break From the Boards

It should go without saying that I love you all, and enoy your posts and am for the most part encouraged and upbuilt by who you are, and all of your struggles to Kill the Beast and have the Life After Cancer we all richly deserve. I also hope you can say the same of me...

I have been a member of CSN since 2003; you can imagine how many personality types have made their way to both chat and the boards. I should know, I am one of them! LOL

That having been said, I am opting out for a spell. I have immediate family concerns which I am choosing to concentrate on for a while. Nothing earth-shattering thankfully, but I just want to spend more time with my actual family! My cyber-family will have to wait for a bit!

I am not saying I'm not going to sneak in to read and maybe comment a time or two. Just didn't want anyone to miss me and not know where I went or why. I just need to be around those I can touch and talk with and see their expressions, and they mine.

I am not going to weigh in on the latest mystery of "Will the real CSN member please stand up"~I am simply stepping back from it all.

Hugs,
Claudia

    Sorry, Claudia
There is no way that Moopy and I aren't going to miss you if/when you stop coming by so often. Fortunately, a 50 foot tall woman is very difficult to miss... you must have given them all a scare back in your JW days! Hope that all goes well at home and that you can find more time for all of your friends here soon!

    Love,
    Joe and Moopy

All I will say is I will miss you gf you have a way with words that most of us dont.. speaking for myself actually... and I too... have stepped back a little, I had to leave chat the other nite, because of what my guts were telling me. I hate to be cynical but I am also very kinetic.

    all I will say ...

    Hey, Claudia!
I became a CSN member less than two weeks ago. From what others have said here, I know you will be sorely missed. So, I regret that we won't have a chance to get to know each other better. However, I can totally understand your need to take a break - for whatever reason. Heartfelt best wishes to you, Claudia. Hopes & prayers your way, for continued cancer-free good health.

Obviously, you will always be welcome here. Take really good care of yourself. Be well.

    Kind regards, Susan

Of course, I totally understand your need to step back. I hope all is well with your family. No need to weight in on the latest drama; these types of things happen on boards quite a bit, as I'm sure you know from your years here. But I hope this episode has not alienated you from us for good. We need you!! I will miss you and look forward to your return from your "sabbatical." Maybe you can drop us a line with a pic. or two from your wedding?! Just a thought, no pressure. Love you,

    Mimi

    Me too, miss you
    Hi Claudia,

I barely know you yet, but I enjoy reading your posts as much as everyone else here seems to. (And I always enjoy seeing your poster!)

I totally understand what you're doing and why. The most important thing, for all of us, is to take care of ourselves.

I hope to see you again here someday, as I am just really getting started (surgery = May 6).

Best wishes and hugs to you,
    Debi

    Me, too...
I will miss you, too. When I joined in November, 2007, you were one of the first to respond and support me, along with Zahelen. I'll never forget that. However, I think I share a bit of what you are feeling right now. As much as I love the boards and all of the people here, my visits have been lessening over the past several months. Not that I've lost interest nor has my concern diminished. I care a lot about the people and put in my two cents worth occasionally when I see someone is hurting the way I was. But, life outside of cyber space seems to be demanding more and more of me now. That's a good thing. You see, there is life after breast cancer. Something you have known for a long time, and I've just started to know now that I'm approaching my one year anniversary. I know you'll be back from time to time, as will I. Chenheart doesn't disappoint. Take a well deserved break, Claudia. enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. Hugs, Marilynn

    Hello, Donna!
I joined just this month, too. I'm not going to allow some evil monster to scare me away from this fabulous group of caring & giving folks. Hope you feel the same way.

    Kind regards, Susan

    Will miss you
Hi Claudia, first of all, I did not know you got engaged----congratulations to you and Reggie!
I will really miss you and your insightful posts and wonderful sense of humor.

I understand that sometimes you need to step away for a while. When I found this site last January I was still pretty obsessed with cancer and very fearful still. This circle of survivors(you included:0) welcomed me and I was constantly on line. Everyone here made me feel so much better about things and I spent more time in the chat room than I did talking with my "in the flesh" pals. My hubby was constantly complaining that I was always "on the cancer site".

But I think over the last six months or so, I am finally starting to heal a bit emotionally and am spending less time on the site. Maybe this is a sign of recovery, of the cancer not taking center stage in my mind anymore. Its probably a healthy thing. Sometimes I worry that spending time here keeps cancer in my thoughts. I don't know.....

I care very much for everyone here and can't imagine just leaving. But I understand where you are coming from. I seemed to have unconsciously weaned myself a lot from chat and perhaps a break from the site and thinking about cancer every now and then is a healthy thing.

I will miss you Claudia and will look forward to hearing from you again in the future. You are a very special person. Love and good health to you always, Eil

    Hey there Claudia!
I will definitely miss your advice, sense of humor (we weird Californians need to stick together---no one else REALLY understands us), but most of all, your weather reports from 50 ft. above).

Best of luck to you and Reggie, you both deserve nothing but the best!
    BIG Cyber hugs,
    Jan

    Hi, Eileen!
I agree with Lili - your new photo is lovely! You look beautiful - what a lucky guy! Although, as a somewhat insane pet lover - I do miss seeing your pretty kitty! :-)

Although I completely understand how & what you're currently feeling about participation here... I am saddened that so many seem to have left, or are taking a break - even though for many different & all good reasons. I joined not even 2 weeks ago. The boards seemed busier then.

But you must do whatever you need to do to continue to heal yourself - not only your body; but, also your heart, mind & spirit. Nothing is more important. Take the best care of yourself, no matter what. I hope you'll continue to visit here; but, only if it's good for you to do so.

    Kind regards, Susan
